Title: A Detour Tree
Post by: Jeff on November 09, 2021, 08:56:17 PM
If there ever was a tree that should be called a detour tree, its growing on my place and is alive and well! Well, the top looks healthy anyhow.

I wonder what it's story is?

I've got some stuff like that.  Mine originated in 2003 when a tornado came thru.

I doubt even the smoke from burning it would go up straight.  Great find

It'll make good firewood. That'll take any crook out, with straight ashes. ;D

Thanks for the memories.
I can still hear my Father say, That tree is so crooked it won't even make straight smoke.
In my woods, another tree would of fell over and did that.

Where I worked there were two hornbeams about 15 feet apart. One sent a limb out that rubbed against the other and now are grown together.
