Post by: alsayyed on November 13, 2021, 11:07:49 PM

Hello friend
I have little problem with my chainsaw stihl MS660. It is acts crazy
When I press decompression valve  down and pull the rope it function but when I put the switch in the middle to start the chain when I pull the rope  is easy and sometimes oh very hard to pull the rope I have to wear gloves to start. Dose any body run into this problem before
Every thing is clean and well taken care off

Ahmed, if I'm understanding correctly, it sounds as if your decompression valve may not be working all of the time?

I would stare back at it twice as hard.

Just kidding.  Pull the muffler and be sure the piston isnt scored.  Pull the starter and make sure the rope isnt jamming between the pulley and the plastic housing.

My hot rod 066 doesn't have a decompression valve.  I don't know all the details, but it was built by someone who knew what they were doing.

I put the toes of my right foot in the back handle, the other foot on top of the loop handle, and pull to win the battle.

No drop starting this one.
