Was weird to see a picture of a oak with mistletoe, spruce tree problem here. I think the biggest problem for oak trees around my area is porcupines then deer close second. Porcupine will spend a couple weeks working the same tree from the tip of the crown right down to the trunk.

Bears here destroy my red oaks as soon as they make acorns. Monkey bears. :D
Rabbits eat back the new growth of the seedlings. I've got 20 year old red oak about 18" tall from 'hare' trimmers. :D

They do quite the 'hare' do on spruce seedlings to. ;D
