Title: log loader parts
Post by: Clarence1950 on January 26, 2022, 12:51:58 PM
My log loader broke down. I'm looking for parts or to get them fixed but I'm having a hard time getting info.
This loader is pulled behind a truck. The lower unit of the boom, that turns it, has the gears broken. Anyone know where i can get replacement parts. There aren't any numbers or manufacturer that i can locate.

Welcome to the Forestry Forum.

Can you post some pics of the loader you have? Need something to go from in order to lend a hand.

No loader expert here. I've had several truck mount units. Would you have an approximate date of manufacture? Older loaders were predominately rack and pinion gear on the swing with the newer and heavier loaders being all ring gear drives. What style is yours?
Also is this loader part of a slasher unit?
