Thank you in advance for your help! Our goal in getting a splitter is
not a daily use but rather every summer for fall wood.
My question is what is reasonable to offer for this used model. The father
let people borrow as needed. This is good for what we need. Any thoughts
suggestions or know where to find the year but mostly what do these sell 'for used?
The below was copy and pasted from a 2011 post - unsure of the year.
I have photos but not letting me upload.
The retail prices quoted to me by my dealer last year (2010):
TW-P1 $2,195 (I was told this is their most popular home model)
TW-2 $2,995
TW-HV1 $2,695 (Horizontal/Vertical model)
TW-HV2 $3,295 (Horizontal/Vertical model)
My dealer gave me a discount off of those prices. Contact a dealer for more specifics.
Thank you again for taking the time to respond.
I bought a lightly used ( 65 hours ) TW1 for $1600 in 2019 without the split tray. I have owned many Timberwolf splitters ( the ones made in Rutland VT ) over the years and have been very happy with them.
Thank you - this was in line with what I was thinking - I don't want to insult her -
and had told my husband $2300 - but brand new it was more - and while it is lightly used - and I do recognize supply chain challenges - I won't overpay. I was thinking of $1800 - given today is that reasonable? I don't mind making an investment - like Stihl you pay more but they last longer.
yes its reasonable. where are you located ? There is a TW1 for sale near Albany NY
Little too far away south coast Massachusetts - hubby definitely won't drive for that lol.
I appreciate your time and help...great forum for learning - I'm the details geek when it comes to purchasing and research. This helped greatly!
