Don't know if it's a big deal or not but I keep getting email notice about having a reply to a pm with another member from 2 months ago.
I would suggest you delete the message, and delete your cache. Thousands of messages go out weekly, so odds are if it was a forum issue, it would be more wide spread.

Well, somewhat related. Someone will quote me or tag me and every now and then (maybe once every 2 months), it will act a little weird. I'll get the red box with a 2 in it by the tree, and an email. I'll clear the red box and check out whatever it was. Generally it is a notification that Notification sent me a notification :D and another that someone tagged me. Then,
sometimes, a week later, the white popup boxes on the right side of my screen will show up with two each for the above. Its not hurting anything, so I just smile and clear them.
I had a couple come across this morning too. Sent out several large checks this week already so my cash has been cleared out, not sure how that's related. Google spying? :D
Deleting your history on your computers, without deleting your cookies, could play a part in things getting weird. Some people will delete history, but not delete cookies so you dont loose logins I would bet. Cookies are also part of what you have or have not seen. If you delete the history you were on the forum, next time you visit the forum thinks you have not been there when it refers to the old cookie you did not delete. Then you have the forum side of things remembering for you too...
