Title: Strapping for lumber
Post by: Wlmedley on May 19, 2022, 09:42:00 PM
Does anyone use strapping to bundle lumber or slabs? If so what kind would work the best and also be economical. Also would this help prevent warping when air drying lumber.

I started with steel, but the clips were not adjustable, and the metal caused rust up against the wood.  I now use plastic with buckles that can be retentioned.  I have both.  I have some stainless steel that is highly tension able, but expensive for utility grade.  three kinds of tensioners, but a variety of stock banding.  best to have a cart to organize.  I can get details later.  I patterned the plastic stuff after what Jake @customsawyer (https://forestryforum.com/board/index.php?action=profile;u=1861) used in 2018 at the sawing project.
