Title: What is this tree?
Post by: Mikeme on May 28, 2022, 10:13:46 PM
The tree is in Mint Hill, NC. Just outside of Charlotte, NC.
What I can tell you about the tree is that it's an evergreen. It doesn't produce flowers, but does have pods that look like they'd open into flowers, but never do.
The leaves are approx 6" long.

See pictures.

Here too, looks like it might have been cut back/frozen and resprouted?

Hi, Don
Not sure about freezing then re sprouting, but I found it in the woods probably 6 years ago when it was around 3' tall (now 8 or 9' tall), but it's never sprouted flowers.

Thanks for the replies, guys.
I've been looking at magnolias in google image search, and I think that's what this is/
