Is their any difference between Oregon 91VXL062 and 91VXL062G chain? I see both part numbers when looking around for replacement chain for a cousin's battery-operated saw.

Additional question: can a saw that shipped with a 91PX chain (and appropriate bar) swap to the 91VXL without changing the bar? Looking at the Oregon web site, the 90PX chain is a narrow kerf, but the 91PX is not. If that info is correct, then he should be able to just swap to a 91VXL, shouldn't he?

According to my Oregon catalog, 90 series is .043 and 91 is .050. So it would be a no-go unless the bar had a LOT of slop/wear in it. 

BUT, my catalog is 4yr old!

I believe the G refers to the packaging, the chains are the same. 91 will not replace 90 unless the bar is severely worn in which case it is done too.

Understood on the 90 vs 91. The real question is can he switch form a 91PX to a 91VXL.
I THINK that's OK. The 91PX is not designed to work on some oddball narrow-kerf version of an .050 bar. (I don't think anything like that exists, but the 3/8 low-profile world is not something I'm very familiar with.)

91PX and VXL are interchangeable. Stihl also makes a narrow kerf lo pro chain, 61PM, which will work just fine in place of the Oregon. I sure hated sharpening this stuff.
