I'm helping a friend work on a Bandit 3680 chipper, with LOR controller/remote setup. The LOR model number is FRD-1201UR (receiver) and FRD-1201UT (remote). It was all working well before the issues we're having. It got shut down for a new radiator/fan for a few weeks, upon startup the remote was not turning on, a couple toggles of the power button and then it came on. In the mix of toggling, the engine stop or reset toggle was used, and since then the receiver only has the ERROR light lit, and the remote LED is blinking fast.

Is there some way to determine what is causing the receiver ERROR light to be on? Anyone have a troubleshooting manual, or know someone that has worked on these bandits? Maybe a way to reset the controller? I took a good look at the remote, put new batteries, etc. and I can't see any issues with it. The antenna setup on the machine is pretty crappy, but seems to have worked for a long time before this. 

All they really need is the autofeed for the chain, and while we dont have the tether, If I knew what wires to toggle at the tether input plug maybe we could make that happen. Though with the controller box in ERROR that probably would not work anyways.

There appears to be training courses for such products. In the event of an unfortunate accident with such machinery, those who have worked on chipper etc will probably need to show their qualifications/ references that they were suitably qualified mechanics/ Remote Control techs to have worked on the chipper etc.

I was able to dig deep and find a series of photocopied pictures of the manual for the specific one we have, at the link below. The one we have is technically the FRD-1201U-T2 model, and the receiver is different than the newer model that LOR shows on their website. At the link below it explains the error light - basically means no signal from the transmitter. I'm going to look over the transmitter closely.

LOR is unfortunately 6 months out for the new replacement remote system for this machine. Fixing the one we have is also 4-6 months out. Does anyone happen to have one of these transmitters, or possibly the "Tether" that can be used in place of the wireless transmitter?
