Title: Oregon Versa Cut bar
Post by: JimStC on January 09, 2023, 03:43:48 PM
Hello to everyone. New member.

I just put a new Versa Cut bar on my 261 and noticed that it has two plastic connected screw heads toward the end of the bar. I cannot fathom a purpose so I am asking the collective wisdom of this forum for an education.

Thank you,
Jim

A picture would help. I looked the Versacut up online, and don't see anything that matches that description.

It sounds like the remains of the "hanger" that the bar would have been hung by. The bars come with a card with details of the bar and are attached by the "screws" you describe and although the card can be torn away easily the screws are pretty tough ! Just unscrew them.

its to hold the hanger part to the bar , I like these bars as they seem to last a long time cutting in sand
