Title: Tool ID Confusion

I am helping prepare for The Florida FFA Forestry CDE. I am confused between the Spot Gun Applicator and the Tree Marking Gun. What is the difference ? Pictures are helpful :)

In the Florida FFA contests, we have dealt with this question for years.  What has finally been settled on by Shaun Stewart and the folks from the forest service who put on the contest is that a spot gun applicator is for applying chemicals (herbicide) and tree marking guns (including the backpack Panama) are for paint.
