Title: Wallenstein question
Post by: yetti462 on October 05, 2023, 08:52:03 PM
I found a Wallenstein winch for sale, I don't know the model.  The seller says the only number he sees is 6688.  How to sn#'s work on these?  I'm guessing it's a fx66.

Anything to look for buying a used winch?  Only pic they have it looks good.

I suppose it has a sprocket and chain?
That could be worn.

I have a Farmi PTO winch

my 2 cents
test it on a good pull
look, listen and smell.
Look at how it pulls
listen for any clanks or pings
smell if the clutch is slipping or was overworked and burned

wish my 11.000 pull winch had a trailer hitch so i could pull a trailer into the woods to load, then bring back to the road/trail.
