Title: PTO firewood processor
Post by: woodman52 on October 13, 2023, 10:39:56 PM
Well it is still raining so I have had some time to put together another video. I was asked about the processor in the last video so here is one that explains what it is and how it works. I just use it for heat for my house and to supply some relatives with wood. Something like this could be used to make a small firewood business more efficient. especially for the price we paid for it used 10-15 years ago. I would say it is about 3 times faster, maybe more, than cutting piled logs with a chainsaw and then splitting them with a typical hydraulic splitter, a $2K splitter not a $10K dollar pro splitter.  I have never tried a pro splitter, so I don't know how much faster they are. I still cut logs with a chainsaw and split with a hydraulic splitter - when they are too big for the processor or too few to bother setting it up.
