Well guys, I need a bit of luck and probably some prayers, but my LT 50 came in......after 2 months.......
SO, hadn't told the significant other about it, as I thought I had 18-24 months to save up, sell my LT 35, and figure out how to approach/broach the subject with her. Uhhhh, hmmm. Apparently someone ordered it and then declined to pick it up. So I'm next in line. They have been wonderful taking care of me, and told me I could continue to stay on the waiting list if I can't make it work now, so nothing but good things to say about my local WM dealer, but I'm afraid I'm gonna stir the hornets nest this weekend!!!
Wish me luck. If things go poorly, been great knowing all you fine ladies and gentlemen!!! :D :D :D :D
Will let you know how it went next week...........
Doc
Good luck!
Well, they look pretty similar to an untrained eye. Do you have to say anything?😁
Sorry for your misfortune. Waiting for a sawmill is an exciting time and too bad it got cut short. :D
Good luck! Hope it goes well!
Once you tell her and she's mad, go buy a new fishing rod. She'll still be mad but you'll have a new sawmill and a new fishing rod! :D :D
Order a new tractor to make up for the lost time.
I don't know if you like living dangerously or are a fan of the no guts no glory club.
Apparently you can keep a secret.
Me thinks - You better have more than flowers with that gallon jug of wine.

I have a spare room for ya. :D :D
You have to put a really big diamond in the control box or something, so when you show it to her the box holding it falls out. That's the only chance you have of survival.
I'm sorry I "helped" you out by canceling my order lol

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😳
Tell her the LT35 is just getting older like her and that's it's new age. dadgum you, Charlie!
Please don't follow my advice.
I had a friend who once gave me some advice about buying guns. He said that wives did not know the difference between guns, but they could count.
Maybe that could work with a sawmill ?? ;)
Congratulations, good luck and it was nice knowing you. :D
Ahh she'll get over it. Or, she'll hire a lawyer. Hey but either way you got a new LT 50!!! Yah hoo!!! 8) 8)
You poor devil, good luck with that. :) That sawing bug bites hard. All the cattle pour on and flea and tick products on your shelves arent effective against it.
Tell her you have to take the mill into WoodMizer for some work and bring the LT50 home. Maybe you could pass it off as an update to the LT35.
Good Luck!
You should be able to knock out enough wood for a doghouse in no time at all.

I just checked, you can buy the decal kit for a 35. Use a heat gun to remove the 50 decals and apply those before you bring it home, that might help to distract her long enough to see the box with the diamond in it.
Yeah, I'm thinkin the decal change won't help the bank account numbers... :D
Yikes !!! You let her see the bank account ?? :o
Yup, Doc you cant hide it forever. Gotta deal with this head on. So you just man up and march right up to her and look her right in those cold angry hostile female eyes and you tell her she can have a new car or a new kitchen. :D 8) :D

Congrats on the new mill, you'll have a lot of fun with it for sure. As for the domestic front, I know it will be rough and you will miss her for a while but what else can you do? ;D
Jmoore and I were talking about this this (Tom) evening, and we determined that when we bought the Lt-50 instead of the Lt-40 (non-super) that we were also looking to buy, that we made the right choice. We paid for it quickly with the lumber we produced.
I am thankful that my wife just occasionally asks, is this a good decision. I tell her that I don't know but it will likely work out. So far it has. No bucks, no Buck Rogers.
My used LT40 SuperHydraulic cost me $22K in 2002 dollars. It paid me my investment back in one year selling lumber. After that year I quit selling lumber and went 99% portable sawing only. That old sawmill has averaged repaying that initial investment each year for 21 years.
Hmm, makes me think I better start easing my wife into the discussion about the new LT 40 wide ordered this summer.
Well guys, i know i married way over my pay grade. My standard answer is "never mess with a woman who is smarter than you, can beat you up, and knows how to neuter, it doesn't end well!! But I'll never figure out the opposite gender! She never batted an eye. Actually said it sounds like a good investment in the future. SO, after picking my jaw up off the floor, will be taking WM a check Tuesday and setting up a day for a bit more training!! Will be listing my LT 35 soon. Going to have WM give it a spa treatment before selling.
Woohoo!!!
Doc
What color is her new SUV? :D

Yes sir, that's my plan. That and probably the facebook group. We'll see. That little saw has been good to me.
Oops, and forgive me. I hope I didn't violate any policy with that comment.

8) You are in trouble now! ;D
Might come ho.e to new Shelby Mustang or something lol
Doc you are a lucky man. Not because of the new sawmill but because of your wife. A fine understanding woman is rare indeed.
Just had to post a required photo! Sorry for the late night poor quality, but I'm excited!!
