The ash borers have claimed our favorite ash. About 42+ inches at the base. No canopy buds at all this spring. We have lost 75% of the ash on our property. I do have 4-5 mature trees with 75% plus canopy left.
I will be treating them with Imidacloprid soil drench this week in hopes of saving them.
The figure in this tree was amazing. Going to make some table tops from the cookies.
Don't waste your money on soil drench. It's to late
The only ones that survived were the little saplings .Evidently because they did not have enough inner bark for the larva .
my woods are full of ash seedlings, they are every where.
Pretty much all the mature trees are dead.
It'll be interesting to see what happens as these little ones mature.
Will they get the EAB or will it have run its course and burned itself out by then?
Been lucky so far here, no sign of the borer in my area. I have thousands of ash.
