When I opened the saw I noticed this loose hose. Looks like it goes in that hole the arrow is pointing too. I don't see a connector of any kind. It fits in to loose to stay. I looked up the IPL and it really didn't show much .Where does the other end of that hose go? However if it goes in to that hole it could be the vent line for the fuel tank .If that is so the IPL shows a kind of bushing on the end of one hose .i might make note that J-Red and Partner made good saws but the worst IPL's of any saw ever made.All you get is the part numbers not what it is called or used for .
You may be correct in your assumption. There is a little brass fitting with a tiny hole through it at the bottom of where that hose goes. When I started it up I noticed a tiny bit of gas spitting out on occasion. Strange as it sounds the hose seems to wrap past the carb and goes into the plastic handle.
Was considering just gluing it in with some silicone. Not sure silicone is rated for fuel though.

Let me check one of my small Partners ,49 cc's .Partner and J-Red shared a lot of the basic designs .Fact some like the J-RED 490 and Partner 5000 Plus were exactly the same .One was red and one was yellow .
I think it's a vent and should connect somewhere up by the cylinder.
This might help ,might not .This is a Partner 5000 plus which seems fairly close to that J-Red ,Where my finger is pointing is the fuel tank vent valve .The filter /valve is installed with a rubber bushing which keeps it tight .
I think I know what happened .Who ever owned that thing might have lost the fuel tank vent valve and just stuck that hose in it's place .The actual valve is a Husqvarna part number and they are very proud of them like $20-$25 a pop on flea bay.The hose would work but could dribble gasoline if the saw were tipped sideways .Actually any vent valve would work with a short piece of hose acting like a bushing to hold it in the hole .
I found a parts blowup. I do think it is a vent, I don't think there was actually a valve as some saws have. The saw was my Dads he purchased new and probably used it just a few times. Doubtful he ever opened it up. ] I ran it last summer and I am guessing that it just had this bushing on the end of the hose, don't see any additional filter in the diagram. It is a vent, and the vent line, 501 76 83-24 is supposed to be a press fit into the hole. The other end of the line is led out a hole in the right side of the saw, and a cintered brass filter pressed into it.
