I am just double checking to make a change and started arguing with myself. I am running a Lt70 with 747 Blades. What is the kerf?
.055 thousands
This is from Marty with Woodmizer ...
If you realy want to get down the the thousanth here is what we figure.
Blade thickness .042 Kerf .084
Blade thickness .045 Kerf .090 9 hook
Blade thickness ,045 Kerf .096 10 hook
Blade thickness .055 Kerf .111
1/8 " would be .125
as you can see double the blade thickness or close to it depending on the set of the teeth.
Hope this helps
There is a chart in my Setworks Operator's Manual that gives the blade thicknesses and kerf allowance for different blade thicknesses. Problem is that there were only two in 1998 when it was printed; .042 & .045.
I would think that the Accuset Manual would have a chart. Mine is under "Calibration".
Not all blades have the same amount of set, either. I just figure ⅛" on everything, that works for me.
The actual kerf of the cut is the band thickness plus set, plus fiber tearout, plus band vibration plus....
Just measure it.
Cut a couple inches into a cant and stop the saw. Then actually measure the kerf. Feeler gauges jammed in work fine, and then you'll know the "real"kerf.
I used to do that, now I do as Barbender suggests, just set everything to 1/8".
I set my cheat sheet up as 1/8" kerf. Works fine for me using my SimpleSet setworks.
Example: On my final turn of the cant I set my blade height at 10" and my cut at1-1/8". I take a cut, toggle the SS and it stops on 8-7/8 then 7-3/4 then 6-5/8 then 5-1/2 then 4-3/8 then 3-1/4 then 2-1/8 and ends on 1".
BTW - I am using WM double hard 4 degree hook angle.

Ya, I have a 70 with accuset 2 as well. At first I got the calipers out and measured the kerf of my blades. Punched the numbers into accuset My screen seemed to always be on some cockeyed number and it made planning the next cut confusing. I switched to 1/8 inch kerf and life got way easier for me. My accuset is so consistent, over the years I've memorized the " cheat sheets"😁
