Title: Survivor 47
Post by: Magicman on September 18, 2024, 08:04:10 PM
Yup, Survivor 47 is beginning now.

Right person was kicked off last night.
Enjoyable evening.
Tough to identify with the cast of characters. Most seem to be office intellectuals.

Even so it looks like a good group of participants.  Survivor is a nice diversion from whatever else is on the tube and I enjoy watching it each week.

Kinda early to judge but this season's series is setting up to be interesting.

Lotsa talk, wasted idol, and a blindside.  Loose tongues will probably be the downfall of some.

Right MM.  Open mouth insert idol and see it go bye bye.  How can these "smart" people do such stupid things?  I have never thought showing someone an  idol would help your game.  I don't think so.  Talk friendly, lay back, help out, work hard in challenges would be my game.  And secretly hunt for idols and keep my mouth shut if I found one.  The construction worker sure looked  like a deer in the head lights after the vote.  I am enjoying this pure escapist entertainment.

Last evening episode was sorta ho-hum with a lotta talking.  I had no opinion of the gal that got voted off, but there is much miss-trust.   ffwave

Tonight's episode showed that there is much going on behind the scenes that we are not aware of.  smiley_headscratch

Not all that thrilled with watching the keyboard "wonders" whose jobs involve sending keyboard stokes across the universe.  There interactions don't seem to be the same as I have with local people and customers that work with their hands making things.  They come across as over the top in many cases.
But, sure beats a lot of other stuff on the tube.
Got my new knee a week ago, so I do have time to scan the TV.

Congrats on the knee.  I recommend um.

Glad the knee is installed cedarman! I am with you on that. These folks seem to have no real work ethic to DO things, just talk. Take the fact that they all saw that buoy tonight but only one gal checked it and she even thought it was a waste of time.
Glad to see they voted Rome out, he talked too much and said very little. No marketable skills in many of these folks. I liked it better when they sprinkled in firefighters, builders, ranchers and the like. More representative of society.

We have missed the last two episodes but have them recorded.  We will take a little time and watch them both skipping the commercials.

OG, you are  right. They cannot see opportunity when it smacks them in the eyeball.
How could you not be curious about the buoy.
Liked last nights show.  Right person voted out in my book.
It was so obvious that the producers didn't even put out red herrings.
Which is more real?  Survivor or "News".
Great to escape.

We watched the two recorded episodes last night and I was glad to see some tough action.  I realize that the "social" stuff is necessary but we are seeing only what the producers want us to see.

I was not surprised at the ones that got voted off, but they surely were.   ffcheesy

Anyway, it is still a nice variation from what is normally on the tube.

We really enjoyed tonight's episode.  There were several twists, turns, and surprises, but well played by all.  We are looking to see some real battles in the rest of the series.

What a respite from Tue evening.  Pure entertainment that was lots of fun.  Auction was fun to watch hungry people salivate.  Kyle now has big target on back.
MM, maybe just you and me, but still one of my favorite shows.
No one else watching?

Yup, the screws will really be tightening now and the players may loose even while watching their front and their back.  ffcheesy   Without question, Survivor is my favorite and most watched show ever.

We are still watching.
Best season since covid and dei.

Makes you wonder what is happening that we never see.  I did not understand why Kyle's name was not immediately at the top of the list. Might have been the only chance to vote him off.

There is much going on that the producers/editors don't let us in on and it has to be that way to keep the show as it is.

They are mixing things up a bit to keep it interesting and I was not surprised to see Sol go.
Title: Re: Survivor 47
Post by: Cedarman on November 14, 2024, 10:46:15 AM
I was as blind sided as SOL was.  I bet tribal council was a whole lot longer than what we saw.  Yup, whole lot going on we don't see.  Used to be alliances were sound for quite a few votes.  Now they come and go on an hourly basis.  No loyalty what so ever.  It does make it interesting.
Also thought Kyle was on the block.  Wait until they get to puzzle solving.  May see different people get immunity.
Definite respite from politics.

It was as it should be, paranoid and blindside and of course there are sliders that are just coasting along.  There is no need to pick a favorite not knowing the actual politics of what we do not see.

Well it doesn't mean a hill of beans, but I got my money on that guy Kyle. Hew has mad skills in the challenges ad seems to have a good ground game. I don't really get interested until they get down to about 6, but this guy has game and he's humble.
Title: Re: Survivor 47
Post by: Cedarman on November 21, 2024, 06:49:48 AM
At this stage any of them can win it all.  Takes some luck though.  Kyle has a big target on his back now.  Puzzles will start to come into play soon.  Usually I have someone I really dislike, but they are all gone now.  I watched who got kicked off first last night.  Made it interesting listening to what Gabe said and I knew he was gone.  Usually just watch straight through.  Anyway, another fun evening.

They are on 47?!?!  I remember when this show first came on the air, shoot, does that make me old?  I was in Tech School and doing my internship at a dealer.  The old Tech that was my mentor/watch that the kid don't do anything stupid guy was a great guy but we didn't have too much in common.  He watched the show and the next day was a total chatterbox and absolutely. hooked!

Quote from: Old Greenhorn on November 20, 2024, 09:53:15 PMI got my money on that guy Kyle.
I agree about Kyle, but really good contestants such as he is, are deemed a threat, which they are, and are taken out at the first opportunity.  Sadly he is in a situation where if he does not win immunity, he is gone.

It was inevitable when the best player Kyle did not win immunity, he would be voted off.  He didn't and was.  He showed true class and sportsmanship.

I hope that they are deeming Sue as weak and just carrying her along as a number.

Kyle had the bullseye and they hit the target.  Class act going out.  Others should take a lesson.
I'm with you MM, Sue gotta go.
Have no favorites now.  Just going to enjoy the rest of the season.
Genevieve or Sam next?
Title: Re: Survivor 47
Post by: Magicman on November 28, 2024, 08:11:12 AM
Yes, one of the two.  I like Sam, but he has no support.  Sue has an immunity idol and considers herself as bulletproof.  I consider her as baggage.

We shall see, I think one more episode before the finale'.

I love to see a lying blindside actually work, and this one did.  This really mixes the game up but there are two serious immunity idols plus an advantage still in play.  The good thing is that Andy knows about them.  We shall see.  ffcheesy

"I love it when a plan comes together"  The A Team.
There are 3 very ticked off women.  How will they seek revenge?  Who will Rachel use block the vote on?  Fun.
Title: Re: Survivor 47
Post by: Magicman on December 05, 2024, 10:13:12 PM
Rachel and the other two are solidly in charge unless there is a serious island adventure that upsets the profile as it stands now.  She will block one of the "Italian" three and then they will vote off whichever one that does not have the immunity necklace.  If they can they will get Andy because he betrayed them.

It is shaping up to be a real showdown.

Rachel's last immunity may have won her a million bucks.

I think the only way Rachel doesn't win is if she would fail at making fire.  Only Sam has any kind of resume and it pales compared to Rachel's.  Sue and Teeny have only been along for the ride.

I think you are right Doug.  If Rachel wins immunity, game over.  The only thing left to watch is who is number 4.

If the immunity challenge is a puzzle and unless something really weird happens Rachel wins.  I think that she has the majority vote from the jury.

I missed it last week, I was ata concert. The concert was better, I am sure. But didn't realize it was a 2 hour show. Been trying to find time to watch it for a week. Now I learn tonight is the finale, so I go to watch last weeks show and bartely have the two hours to get it in with dinner int he middle.
Ah well, it's just a tv show, but this has been the best grouping so far in many many seasons. Kind of curious how it winds up. You guys didn't spill the beans on who is left since last week, so I'd like to find out.

Well, I guess that was predictable, you guys certainly nailed it. She really had a lot of game on a lot of levels and her drive was impressive.

I was secretively always rooting for Sam, but Rachel played a good game, was an excellent puzzle solver, and was very deserving to win.
Title: Re: Survivor 47

A very predictable final to survivor. I am tired of having puzzles in the last few immunity challenges.  Also women tend to be much better at  hand motor control then men, so not surprising that Rachel won the last few.
Picking Sue was a no brainer and surprised Sam had some difficulty winning the fire challenge.
Good season except for last night.

Although it wouldn't have made a difference I wish Teeny had won the fire challenge.  She got robbed by the wind.

Actually, Sam made a pretty good case for himself and almost had me convinced.

I do like that they do the after show immediately and are keeping it much shorter.  Bringing back the first few people that get voted off is really kind of pointless.

Should have brought out a birthday cake for Sue.

Sam was not mechanically inclined but that did not necessarily cost him the win.  He was never in a tight trusting group such as Rachel had.  It was a girly thing and worked for her.

Sue was never a threat to anyone, but she was a "motherly figure" and "go between" with the girls which worked to their advantage, but not hers.

Rachel won immunity and made the right moves at the right times.  (https://forestryforum.com/board/Smileys/alienine/thumbsup.gif)
