Does anyone out there actually own one of these and if so, is it such a poc that it's an everyday fixer upper or is it worth buying for lite duty work given the very low price?
(about:invalid)
It seems like they are copying the Echo CS-2511TN.
I feel like I'm really going to get roasted on this one ffsmiley so I will say: I know you get what you pay for. I can fix most machines on my own, from anything on full sized tractors (well, not the computer sh*t) to my sons wind-up toys, and I expect that at this price, I'll need to tinker a bit on this thing from time to time.
I'm not really using this for tree climbing, I want to get my dad a saw so he can cut for more than an hour before burning out (he's 82, though he gets around like he's 72) though I do some climbing from time to time so I would borrow it for limbing trees around the house. He has an ms170 which is still pretty light (~10 lbs w b/c). He also has an 034 but that's getting a bit heavy for him too.
Another point I'll make (before someone else does ffsmiley ) is that some people would say it's time for him to put the saw down if he can't run an ms170 for more than an hour; I say, you just need the right tool for the job. I'm 41 and I probably can't run a 660 all day, or let's be honest, for even an hour but that doesn't mean I shouldn't cut at all, it means I need to get a saw I can handle so that I don't get fatigued, because that's when people get hurt. Although, I'd rather active and bleed out in the woods at 82 than die slowly on the couch in front of the tv or stuck in a hospital bed...alright, enough of that happiness :sunny:
So again, is there anyone who has actually run this saw for a reasonable amount of time and what are your thoughts on it?
Thank you all for you time!
I have never heard of the saw, but at his age and hour of any chainsaw is plenty. rest and start up again if needed. I have an easy start 250 for my son I got when he was 11. now he has a 271-farm boss. I have a dozen saws if he says he needs more, but I doubt that will happen. Hope he feels young, but the limit is on the sawyer not the saw. just my opinion, and yes, it is worth every bit of what you paid for it. ffsmiley
