There are probably worse things for a sawmill than sitting, but not many.
I spent about 12 hours on this wood-mizer getting it back to operating condition. And that does not include tuning it.
There were various frozen sheaves on the log turner, rusted this and that, stale fuel, rotted lube tubes and loose drive belt. Gunked up wheel belts, dry rail felt etc.

Good on you for bringing it back to life, enjoy!

And, welcome to the FF
Is this a machine you just got or one you had and let sit for a while? If it was your own and it sat for a while, that seems like a reasonable amount of time to get things lubed and tuned and working right. If it's one you bought, 12 hours doesn't seem like a lot of time at all to go over it and get everything working to spec. Either way, it's a good investment of time and will repay itself many times over.
Best of luck with it, and happy sawing. You might fill in your profile and let us know where you are, other members may be in your area.
