Title: Storm update
Post by: Jim_Rogers on September 30, 2024, 01:24:18 PM
To all:
I just wanted to reach out to you.
I texted with Dan Flinn (FF member imintotrees) yesterday who lives just south of Ashville, NC.
He is ok and has no power or cell service at his house.
He was able to travel out to get gas for his generator and check on his wife's family. Who were ok.
On his way he went to Fairview and checked on the school building.
There was no damage to that building. (the Timber Frame Learning Center of Western North Carolina.)
But one end of Old Fort Road is washed out between the school and route 9.
We can access the school on Old Fort Road off route 74, until the road is fixed.
I will keep you updated when I can.
Take care.

I got a text this morning from Dan:

We woke up with cell service again and some internet! We got gas last night and there was a very small line. I think the fuel issue is resolved. There is power to a house on the road that connects to our road. So, it's getting closer!!

Good news for sure.
