Post by: Magicman on September 30, 2024, 01:48:08 PM
Just trying to take some time off:

Looks like the Smokies got "blown and washed away" so we are readjusting our sights.

It's a great time of year to visit the New England states. Weather is pleasant and foliage is getting colorful.

MM,We just got back from the Smokies yesterday and didn't really have any problems. We were in the Gatlinburg,Pigeon Forge area and although there was some high water we didn't see any flooding. We traveled through Wise Va and Pikeville Ky on the way back and did notice some power outages. It may be worse coming in from the south and I don't know which area you planned to visit but we had a good time as this was the first vacation we have been on for years. Spending it with family only made it better. Maybe come on up and visit WV. We have a new National Park that is really popular. New River National Park. It's a beautiful place and we didn't get much rain.

We have been all through the Smokies as well as the Ozarks so anywhere will be a repeat trip for us.  We have followed the Blue Ridge and Shenandoah all of the way to the end.

Having visited all 50 states and all of the Canadian Provinces sorta makes everything a do-over for us.  I guess that the great majority of the states and many of the Provinces 2-3+ times.

We will probably just set our sights on Arkansas & Southern Missouri.
