Title: Unjamming a Braden mu7 pto winch
Post by: thegman on October 15, 2024, 10:51:46 AM
It jammed itself, and now I can't get the dogs to release, nor disengage the transmission (it kills the engine). Any how to help would be appreciated.

Good Humor: I just purchased the truck with the winch. the winch lever on the winch worked fine, it needed a pto engagement cable which I replaced. All seemed well, so here I go, started the engine engaged the transmission, pto shaft now rotating. Had about 20 feet of cable out, Engaged the winch, It started to wind in (very fast) about 2+ feet per second. I went oh crap and tried to disengage no luck. I found out later the dogs don't release under load. I got the hell out of the way, no time to disengaged the transmission. Now its jammed

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
