Has anyone here used this service? A local timber framer that I have milled for is impressed with their website but I would like to hear from someone who has actually used them. I am planning a timber frame house and would like top use Timber Frame HQ to coordinate with a local architect. Thanks.
You have to understand that there are two styles in timber framing. One is traditional and the other is modern.
TFHQ designs all their frame using the modern style framing.
That is, with centered braces, centered tenons and planed on all four sides timbers.
Traditional style designs don't use planed on all for sides timbers, centered brace tenons, or center braces (normally).
You can do a combination of both if you wish.

Call and talk to them. Back when I worked with him, it was Just Brice Cocrhan. Nice guy. I think there are more than just him now.
Thank both of you for the replies. I will call next week.
