I delivered some parts to a garage and saw a brand new Wallerstein 3pt winch on back of a 55 hp tractor.
never been used at all.
He said he is looking forward to wearing the paint off it.
I think he said it was a 4000 model?
I am ready to get going!!!!
My Dad has a Wallenstein 3pt skidder winch. I've used it a few times on my 75hp kubota. I believe his is the 8000 model. It's impressive, works very well for selective skidding. My only complaint is the rope setup to engage the clutch. I'm sure it's fine once a guy gets the hang of it.
I think his has about 150' of 3/8" cable. Sure easy to run out compared to the 3/4" on the skidder!
He did say he had to move the rope set up to the other side.
I don't know why they did it that way.
You have to walk all the way around the tractor to engage the rope.
I've owned Farmi, Wallenstein and now Fransgard.
By far and away the Farmi is the much better winch. Then Fransgard and lastly the W.
Ray, I am sorry you are not feeling well. I hope you get over the fever and can go back to pulling logs soon! :wink_2: ffsmiley ffsmiley ffsmiley
Now I have spring fever!!!
