Well I bit da bullet and got a dedicated phone line for da 'puter. Still on dial-up, but it's my very own slow speed connection. 8)
Please don't laugh............dis is a big step up. :D
Welcome to the 21st CENTURY Chet 8) :)
Whats next up there? Sliced bread? ;)
I won't laugh Chet cause I have the same setup :)
And our house and seven neighbours share a 1" "city"waterline so having a shower can be a slow painfull process if somebody else is trying to wash clothes or fill a coffee pot up or down the line/
So, are you saying you have to coordinate showers and water usage with all the 7 neighbors, or just within your own house? Sounds scary to me. ::)
Paul,
I can sympathize with you on da water thing. We are serviced by a 1" township line also, and to make matters worse I'm on a big hill. :(
But on da good side, did I tell ya about my dedicated 'puter line? :D
;D No,nothing weird like that, just terrible pressure most of the time. The system was put in in the early 1950's and a lot more houses have been added since and a few have illegal suits.
The water line was originally put in by the Federal Gov't for the nearby Indian reserve and the property I own was one of 4 VLA lots that were available after WWII and were tied into the city water line. The Indian Band took over a few years ago and would like to phase us out.
Not too worried though because when we raised the house a few years back we called the Band to come and shut the water off while we were digging around. They didn't have a clue where to look. ::)
Whats that Chet, you got a new puter line? We got one too but didn't get it dedicated. Who did your dedicating? :D Might help to do the waterline while were at it
I ain't laughin', Chet. You're one big step ahead of me :(.
It is too bad you guys live in such a backward country. ;)
I have 2 ISDN digital lines and an analog line. On the analog I have 1024/256 ADSL high speed, on 7/24. I have a directly toll-free number from the USA too.
And I live in a Third World Country!
Is there something we are not being told by our phone company or government?
Don't tell them folks on the 1" water line about indoor plumbing or they'll probably all wind up scalded after the john is connected.
