Title: New Brunswick Atlantic Salmon Angling maps (marked pools)
Post by: SwampDonkey on April 02, 2025, 06:07:05 AM
For anyone into Atlantic salmon fishing in New Brunswick, these are old river maps with pools marked on them. I have used Google Earth before to add these kinds of maps to my Garmin GPSMAP64SX, but it requires a second program like Mapwel to make into tiles so the GPS can handle the large Google *.kml file. They won't show up on your GPS unless you are at 8 km scale or less for some reason even if you mess with the zoom settings. I couldn't get them to show at something like 50 km, but I guess they aren't much use at that small scale anyway.  :wink_2: You need to load the paper map into Google Earth to create an image overlay and to position the map with the overlay tool, you set the opacity lower to see the Google Earth photo under it to help line it up.

Here's the link to the digital paper maps.
