Title: 1989 Freightliner FLD log truck
Post by: 230Dforme on May 05, 2025, 02:49:22 PM
Anyone know where to find headlight / marker light fuses
or fuse box ? Sounds like a silly question, but neither YouTube or the dealer seem to know
Under the dash in the middle there are electrical connections, but no fuses
Thankyou

I didn't find much with a quick online search either. I'd start by checking the trim panels around the door jamb / footwell areas on each side. Some different newer trucks I drove, you would take the glove compartment out to get at the fuses/breakers.

I saw the glove box video on YouTube, but that is for the Cascadia model, the FLD a bit earlier w an upright, rectangle grill
Nothing in that location

Oh man, Freightliner in the 80s was playing hide-and-seek with fuses. You practically need a treasure map to find 'em. I had one where the marker fuse was behind a panel with no label and zip-tied to a bundle of wires, no joke

Hmmm... under the hood, on the firewall, under a cover to the right(as viewed from the seat) and above the steering column??  My memory is good but it's short.

OR maybe under a center panel below the dash in the cab.  I can't remember between Fallen Star and Freightliner, but you are likely looking for breakers as opposed to fuses.

Behind the center panel in the cab is a vertical buss bar w many wires fastened to in it w hex nuts, no fuses
Will look at your next post closer tomorrow
Thankyou

That is likely your breakers.  The 'bus bar' will be hot with one terminal of each breaker and the various circuits connected to the other terminal of each individual breaker.
