Hello guys, is elsewhere in Canada still able to timber white ash sawlog for export ? Or any company able to do that still?
I'm looking for a long term and substantial supply which can export to China. Many thanks.
Yes there is but remember every sawmill that cuts hardwood is looking for good white ash , there is some left here in southern ontario but not alot , the bug has killed most of it
The Maritimes, but most of the mature log trees have been cut. And we have a local mill (Garant's) that buys just ash for handle wood. The ash borer has been spotted around the Maritimes but we are not seeing any die offs in my area. I also do not have mature ash, mine are saplings to pole sized stuff, no logs for a long time yet. Be hard pressed to find any steady supply I'm afraid.
hing big enough around here
