AND as usual for him, it's a humorous take on the entire Chinese $100 to &150 dollar chainsaw offerings really :)

Well, I wish I had known what day you were there, Bob mentioned you were coming. I could have stopped by to shake hands and meet, or hold the camera so you guys could both be in the video. That Pinkway saw is a hoot! As for the color, I think @WV Sawmiller is our color expert here and can tell you if it's pink or purple. I know it sure looks purple to me and you, but Howard seems to have some kind of filter for those things.

Looks like you had a great day with whatever you were messing with. I'll have to ask for a gander at that saw next time I am there.

The last time I saw something that color it was a Loginator. I wish I had a can of that paint to post my property lines.

I'll save that $100.00 for something better.   Like parts!  Pinkway marketing department will be contacting you two.  With such an endorsement they will need to make another production run.

On the Pinkway spec sheet posted on Amazon it recommends 25:1 oil to fuel ratio.

I'm running 40:1 in the purple poplar eater. Was a bit fat out of the box. Set it up at 12, 300. Better than I expected.......so far. Time will tell, right?

Curiosity got me with these things. There's dozens of these things in all kinds of colors, with names that are head scratchers, to say the least. Just couldn't resist. Waste of money? No worse than buying a 562M2 for 6 times as much that I had a similar non-need for. Rationality has never been part of the hobby anyway.

Early returns are that it's worth the $108 or whatever I paid for it. So far so good. Kind of growing on me.

Dave, ya gotta think of it like a pricey bolltle of scotch. And it will probably last longer than a 5th of Talisker.

I will not participate in any good guy-bad guy discussion about where they come from. They are there, and part of the saw world. At least they are not counterfeit Huskys and Stihls. Of which most of our favorites are still being made in Brazil by both companies..........but we can't buy them, can we? So I STRONGLY discourage an emotional discussion regarding all those frustrating oddities that we have no control over. Badgering each other over that crap can accomplish nothing but tarnished friendships.
It would be about as valueless as what comes out of Aaron Rodgers mouth every week. I REALLY wish the Steelers would tell him to kiss off. I'm a Giant fan, and  I'm so glad they dodged that bullet. Jerk is the most self centered, delf entitled dude in sports. Rather than sign with the Steelers he should sign with Walt Disney productions. Probably do good voice overs for the cartoons, since plays a hapless cartoon character every week on the Pat McAffee show.  ffwave

All these Amazon saws do is build my regard for the original Komatsu Zenoah G560/561/621AVS chassis from the mid-'80s. If you're going to do a clone, may as well clone something good enough to handle some standard 21st-century cost-cutting for the intended home/landowner market :wink_2:

Notice a lot of reviews on these type of saws comparing them to Husky Ranchers and the Stihl MS290. Which seems to be exactly the level of user these clone saws are aimed at...at a third of the cost, or even less on sale.

As for looks: the "purple poplar eater" wins hands-down ffcheesy
