Hi everyone. I just picked up a 1980 TJ 240E. I got a great price on it and it came with a few problems that I want to fix the right way. Im having a hard time locaring service manuals for the machine.
It has a gearmatic 119 winch and i was able to download the manual.
i cant find the specific owner or service manual for the 240E. it has a 4-53 detroit which i have a manual for. not sure whT type of transfer case it has or transmission other than its A 4 speed and has hi/low range with a reverser.
no brakes, winch isnt working and hydraulics a little weak. I have the winch out of the TJ and the transfer case.
does any one know where i can get decent manuals for my year and model machine?

found my old post. They had the old TJ stuff back when I needed it. Best of luck!
Hope this helps, its been years since I needed to get a TJ manual, but thats where I got mine
Deere is a good source. Try Ebay, I've bought ALOT of iron manuals off there cheap. Where in the country are you ?
Thanks GRANITEstateMP- i tried logging into the john deere side you provided and went to the search field and typed in 240e timberjack and came back with "no docs found". there is a lot of sub menus on the website and maybe i was in the wrong place
