That's the stuff yur government paid me not to grow this year...time to start cutting and housing...sure will miss it. :D ;D :D

Them bolts look something like what's used to haul pipe???

The pictures and descriptions are great Buzz...always a pleasure seeing what other members do...nice to put a face to a name.  Thanks for taking the time to do it Buzz.

The bolts are used to allow a strap of banding around a crate or some other type of package where a standard pallet don't work, pipes are one type. We would sometimes get "pallets" of cardboard that were bundled with those.

J_T, You built the shaper that is used for making those?
Soooooooooo...............how do we make a shaper?  ;D

Furby it is built sorter like an upside down swing it has replacebal bits in the head and on a slide to make longer trough's .Everything at my place and most of the tools at Ricks are parts and pieces of things from someones scrap yard . He also has three power converters running .Had very few break downs also and he runs five and six days a weak.I have almost goofed up though as I uster do all his welding but now he only calls me on the big stuff. Never give welding or electrel lessons to a coustermer :D :D Furby you gunna hafta make a down South trip one these days 8) 8) see those purple hule peas in the center those rows of that farm photo ???got sweet corn on each side too they over 1,300 ft long :D :D

It is great to meet folks from the Forum.  I reckon Jim Buis ran out of time before he had to return to the Island Country.  He had indicated he might head this way when visiting one of his sons about 75 miles North of here and a visit with Gilman.

Don has sure done an impressive job of putting together his mill. 8) 8)  I have no problem understanding the mechanics of it, but the hydraulics are beyond me. :o :o  I've been around hydraulics a whole lot, but have never figured them out enough to try to build my own like Don has.  Don, thanks for the tour and the time spent chewing the fat. ;)

Frank, I am really sorry about not coming to see you and your setup.  :( :'( When we are in Portland, we don't have any wheels.  I am going to have to figure out some solution to that problem.  We don't have a lot of time to spend there then we don't have any transportation to go do anything.  While in Illinois, I can always borrow a car from someone in the family as we have a lot more family here than there.  Sorry Frank!!

I do have some good pictures taken at Don's place, but am computer challenged at the moment as my daughter's PC setup leaves a lot to be desired.  I'll see what I can do, otherwise, it will have to wait a couple of weeks until I get back to Tokyo.

Jim
