Title: Looking at a Case 1835c skid steer
Post by: Gilman on September 17, 2005, 05:49:06 PM
There's a Case 1835c skidsteer for sale locally for $5,000.  The owner put a non stock diesel engine in it.  It looks tired and worn, but it's also cheap.

I looked on the internet for spec's, like load capacity, but can't find it.

The other question is what should I look for when looking at it or test driving it?

Which looks 'tired and worn' ?  The diesel engine or the skid steer?

the engine sounds good

The pin joints are worn and they don't look like they were maintained well.

Alice had a couple 45s and her recomendation is to most likely stear clear, both for capacity and what you describe as pin problems.
