Chet, does he have any leads on where is went yet? Did he find another one?  Its probably on its way south, tho one of the hurricane states. :-\

Ya know, I can figure out the stupidity of thieves. We had a guy up here that stole a skidder, painted it, then proceded to start logging.  If your going to steal, why not STEAL MONEY? Why steal work?

Thieves are low-lifes.  There is no two ways about it.

A Thief that will steal another man's tools is the lowest of them all.

 :D :D :D
My uncle always said you could always leave tools, wheel barrows, pick axes and shovels out by the road without fear of anyone ever taking them because they'de have to go to work then.  :D :D :D

hmmm, guess it didn't work for Chet's brother.  ::)

My grandfather had two pickups stolen, and one thief was even handed the keys. Got the truck back later from the drunk. In another incident got a call from the RCMP that a truck registered in his name was in an accident. Grandfather told them his truck was in the garage, and there wasn't a scratch on it. That's until he went out to the garage and seen that they had stolen it.  :o

spencerhenry, how did we go from chippers to thieves ???

I went to www.vermeerused.com and I would guess 20,000-27,000.

Just what is it about a chipper that makes it so expensive?

OOW ,   it's just a guess, but I'll bet a lot of the cost is Liability Insurance.   A chipper has a war zone inside.  Whether they build it substantially enough or not,  if something comes loose, you get to own the company. :)

Dontcha reckon? :D
