Help,
I need to get my old Husky 55 working so my brothers son can cut firewood.
Here is the trouble. H L and T adjustments.
After letting off the throttle saw dies. Full throttle is not right either.
Looking for suggestions on starting screw positions.
Right know I have the L set 1 turn from the highest setting and the T set 1 turn from the highest setting
H I am not sure I turned it up and when the saw is hot it does not run good.
Where should I start with adjustments ???

Here's a good place to start. 8)
Rocky's link is a good one.
If your saw won't run reasonably well with close to those initial settings, you need to find out why. If you end up needing adjustment settings that are very far from the "one turn" you may be masking a serious problem. For instance, if the "L" has to be backed out a couple of turns to keep the saw running as you crack the throttle you could have a fuel supply problem, or even an air leak.
Carburetors don't jump out of adjustment, if you can't tweak it with very small adjustment, find out what the problem is.
If the saw is old, and/or has been sitting for a while, do the basic service stuff first, pull the plug and check the jug for scoring, check fuel filter, air filter, fuel line, flush out the fuel tank, be sure your mix is fresh, be sure the exhaust and spark arrestor are clear. If all that checks out and doesn't help, you can move on to a carb kit and cleaning.
If the saw wants to scream with the throttle open, you likely have an air leak, crank seals, intake etc.
H&L are 1 1/4 turns out from seated.
Make sure the air filter is clean prior to adjusting.
Thanks guys ;D Will work on it this weekend.

"Here" on 61 husky3/4 turn from closed is where I start. Elevation is 800-1400'.
For the 61 it's 1 turn for the low speed and 3/4 for the high speed.
tap,tap,tap...this thing on?
Carb adjusting has always frustrated me >:( I run the old saws....Super XL's mostly. It seems that my H is always turned out much more than the L . I'm using 20:1 mix. 92or93 octane gas with sthil 2-stroke. Does anyone know the factory presets or the manufactures suggestions? As for my Husky 61.... I use it to power my Log Wizard, and it always runs good. I think it would run under water.

Which saw?
If it's been sitting for a long time, like more than a year, the gas in the carb may have gummed up and be causing the problem. A good carb cleaning should it and return you carb to proper operation in the 1-ish turn range.
