Title: Gyro-trac
Post by: RAW on January 12, 2006, 05:56:54 PM
In my search for the perfect equipment for my situation, I found this company.

Make sure to check out the various videos.

Wish I could afford the GT-13.

I checked these out a few months back. Man I would love to have one. It's the perfect solution for my property. I never could get the company to send me any info on the price though.

Cool ;D

Wish the video ran on a Mac ::)

They weigh too much and certainly cost too much for me, but it's a great idea.

I know, right?   :D

I found a company in Charleston, SC that looks to be using the Gyro-Tracs in their land-clearing business.

Maybe that's what I should do:  Start a small company for land-clearing in my area and work the machine long enough to pay for it.   ;D  Too bad I know nothing about what would be involved (insurance, etc.)

These are more in price range.  And if you don't need it, you can drop it and go with another attachment.

I've already got Loftness bookmarked!  ;D

I just keep hearing that the standard tracked skidsteer is not good for rough terrain.
If that wasn't the case, I would definitely go with a skidsteer.

RAW, I have to agree. I want something with a little wider stance and longer track base for the hilly areas. Skidsteers are great for flat terrain and job sites, just don't think they would be very useful in the woods in hilly terrain.

Just in case anyone is interested:

The GT-13 would be about $200K delivered to your door.
The GT-25 is delivered for $310K.

So, yeah.  I'd say these might be a wee bit out of my price range :o

I ran a GT-18 XP for three years. Gyro-Trac makes a very good piece of equipment, well engineered and tuff. But they are on the pricey side, both in initial cost and repair and maintenance parts. My biggest headache was down time waiting for parts while dealing with customs.
