You are old, 23 is DanG old to someone that is under 10. ;) ;D
Welcome to the forum. You will get the picture thing figured out, I did after two years. Of course I am a little older than you are so it probably will only take you two days. ;D
Finaly got it, ok so here it is:

DanG was I wrong. Just took you an hour to figure out the picture thing. 8) Today's young people must be a lot smarter than I thought. ::)
You guys think $400 for that load is good? we got $1 bdft for the best stuff and .80 bdft for the lower grade.
I was happy 8) Goin for 2 loads tommarow, that was 4 trees and we got 102 more marked smiley_chop
Looks like nice stuff.
My Dad and I get along great now that we both have mellowed some. :D
My Father had to go into Electrical Engineering to support our family. And now I own tree plantations in Costa Rica so he loves to see what we are doing.
Great pictures!! 8)
Turtle is now an official LOG DOG (the forum has an official thread heralding the bravery and tenacity of these loyal companions)!
What a beautiful place....your Dad's a handsome fella too! 8)
Your dad doesn't look very old , I'd say between 44 and 48.
Well i can't tell him that some one said he is hansome it will goto his head, :D
As far as his age he is actually 54 but he keeps busy and eats all the natural health food stuff. (once agine, that will goto his head :D)
Nice pics. Nice land. ;D That woodlot reminds me of the woodlots in Southern Wisconsin farm country where I grew up.
Please manage that woodlot well. Talk to a forester get a managment plan in place. Take out what should be harvested, but do not over do it. It is beautiful property. ;)
Max
I whouldn't even think of over doing it, that hill is just about 1/5 of your forest. We marked 106 cherry tress and there is lots lots lots more, we cut nothing under 15" unless it has a proublem with it. we have some 19 20 we are leting go also because they are just good trees with no problumes. These woods have taken care of use and will for many years, we will take care of it. My dad bought this property in 2 purchases and all together it cost about $60,000 (ya for 40 acers with 2 houses and a 110' by 40' bank barn) wish i could get land for that now. It has brought us over $60,000 in timber alone over the years. Take care of your land and it will take care of you!
You actions and words are sure a pleasure to read from a young person. Thank you.
I hope you all enjoy working with your Father.I did a lot with my Father, too. He would go into the woods,at 70 years old and got trees down while I was working. On my days off we would twitch them out.We had a good time doing this.He never got to see my sawmill. He would of really enjoyed it.I really miss him alot.He came from the old school.
Adam , I think Holmes County is the best place in the world to sell cherry. Did it go to Yoder ?
Looks like you and your dad are having fun .
Bill
we sold about 40,000 worth to yoder about 5 years ago but now we take ours to a local guy about 1 mile from me.
With all the amish woodworking done here we get good prices.
