Title: snake bite serum shortage
Post by: Ron Wenrich on May 14, 2001, 03:56:18 PM
For those of you who are in poisonouse snake areas, its been reported that the largest producer of snake bite serum is in short supply.

Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories announced Thursday (May 10)that due to high demands and production difficulties, the drug, Antivenim would not be available until the end of June, and then in limited amounts.

CroFab is a newly developed serum, specifically for rattlesnake bites.  It has been developed by Savage Labs, and has recently been approved by the FDA.  This should help with the shortages.

So, don't go playing around with those copperheads.
