the question of whether or not a draft of lumber really exsist...
does it or did it ever...
as a kid my grandfather or father had me laod "drafts" of wood for their customers as the quanity that could easily pulled by a draft team...
the actual BF count made a difference if it was loaded on a skid, tobagan or frieghter and the team used....
this is how I know it...
This1979 DOD document (http://www.dtic.mil/whs/directives/corres/pdf/414519r1_0979/chap5_a.pdf) describes a draft as a pitched stickered bundle of lumber, not a unit of measure.
