Happy New Year Everybody. All the best in 2003
That was cute. The snow must be gettin PRETTY DEEP, huh, Andy ??? :D :D :D :D :D
Very nice, Andy. I too, wish for everyone to have a very hugable New Year. Just be careful with some species of trees you might hug, you could get pitch all over your closthes. ;D And besides you might get mistaken for a tree hugger if caught. 8)
;D ;D Happy New year to all, Cabin fever comin on early this year? Not here, I have two places to go this winter, moving into a new place, about 4 miles from here, and taking care of both places for the winter, no time to get bored. Moving in Jan. is tough though, at least in these parts.

G'day Guys,
Happy NY to everyone. The 1st has dawned an absolutely beauty day. I may have to go and celebrate by lying on the beach! By the look of some posts, some of you guys are in the snow. Cant imagine winter over Christmas/NY time.
As I write this, a mate has rung with the offer of a days fishing out on his boat. Sounds like a great plan!!
Cheers
Charlie.

WOW Jeff your so fast your a year behind the rest of us, 00:00:02 I thunk it would be 00:00:03. Well it's 9:30 in the great state of Alaska and I plowed the snow back and stacked a rick if wood in the yard and just lit it off. We still judt have about 6 or 8 inches of snow but that will be enouf the the $300 of fireworks will not set fire to the forest. 8) 8) 8) Well time to go toss some wood on the fire and set up some shells. ;D
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Andy

I wish everyone a happy and successful New Year :)
Obviously Jeff B had nothing better to do than to post to the net on New Years Eve and at that time of the night, well, those of us that posted early had better things to do. I was drinking wine and kissing the ladies when the ball fell. Then we had black eyed peas and cabbage for luck in the new year, then another round of wine and hugs. Gee, another year before I get to do that again. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
Don,
I eat black-eyed peas and cabbage any time I DanG well please. ;D
Noble
It's Black eyes and Rice (Hoppin John), Collard Greens or Turnip Greens, Hog Jowl and Corn bread for us. Not that we don't eat it every day but who's to pass up an excuse. :D
For us its collards for spending green
Black eyed peas to bring you change
and Dutch apple floppen to finish with...ain't got the first clue on that one but sure not complaining. The girls are getting ready to fry some up, I'll try to post the recipe here.
3 Golden Delicious apples peeled cored and sliced into rings
1 cup flour
1 cups milk
1/4 cup beer (for fizz)
2tbs sugar
1tbs cinammon
pinch of salt
Mix to a thin pancake batter type consistency...my mother in law cooks sort of like my grandmother did, they really measure more from experience instead of by exact measure.
They're,plugging in the fry daddy although a cast iron fry pan works just fine too with enough oil to deep fry.
Dip apple rings in and fry to a golden brown. Pull out and drain on paper towel then flop both sides in powdered sugar. Let cool...yeah right...gotta go, Happy New Years Everybody!
Well, since we are talking food, just finished a brunch (that's fancy talk for a late breakfast) of eggs benedict, black eyed peas, gabbage, Mimosas, and fruit. Served by a local cafe where I spend a bit of time, and once a year they spring for a brunch. Needed that orange juice after last night.
The ladies at the party I was at were either smoking or puking so kissing them was out of the question. The sober ones had their boyfriends their. >:( My group had a designated driver and everyone made it home safe.
Even saw a coyote just south of Omro, WI :o :o :o :o :o Seeing Wyle E. Coyote was worth it going out last night.
HHHAAAPPPYYY NNNEEEWWW YYYEEEAAARRR!!!
QuoteObviously Jeff B had nothing better to do
Actually I was doing exactly what I wanted to do. We had returned my Mom to her home and my sister, my oldest was in Ann arbor my youngest in big rapids and the house was as peaceful as it had been in weeks. Tammy and I fixed super together, cleaned out a closet so I could build a shelving system in it today. I drifted in casually to the computer, sat down my diet coke and wished everyone a happy new year right on time. I didn't kill a single brain cell last night and may have actually gained a few. ;D
Your a good lad, and I didn't kill any brain cells, either, but some sure suffered terribly this morning :-X. The least ya coulda done was pat momma on the bottom and plant a big wet sloppy on her before you turned the puter on. ::)
It only took 3 seconds to post at Midnight. Momma got all my time after. :)
