This was an interesting topic at our church last year, I thought I would post a thread for fun. List your top 5 favorite movies of all time. They don't have to be listed in any kind of order, But just 5 please. If the movie has sequels, then list them seperatly.

Wizard of Oz (I've probably seen it 20 times!)
OK
The Road Warriors
Braveheart
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
On the Waterfront
The Italian Job
Kevjay, I probably seen Tombstone 10 times. An epic with historic re-creation. Never get tired of it. Tombstone was on again last night on one of the premium channels. Wyatt was running the horses with Josephine Marcus (Dana Delany) as I was channel surfing. ;D
Kinda like the Western Godfather with Doc Holiday "I'm your Huckleberry", Johnny Ringo, Curly Bill and Ike Clanton. The Wild West was a violent place. smiley_horserider

Oh Brother is really my favorite, but these others had been left out ::) Well so have Cool Hand Luke, the Dirty Dozen, and One flew over the Coo Coo's Nest. Oh yes and the Crock. Dundee movies.
Second Hand Lions was great! :)
'Ol "Gus" really showed 'em didn't he? After Lonesome Dove (should be in my top 5 too) he will always be Gus.
Lord of The Rings
Forrest Gump
Oh Brother Where Art Thou
From The Hip
Shaqwshank Redemption
In no special order. Five picks just isn't enough for great movies.
Well I apologize for getting carried away, I guess there are a lot of good movies out there and it's kinda hard to narrow them down to five. I'll tell you without a doubt my very LEAST favorite one though. I think it was probably the first movie I ever saw and I think my parents took me to it just to shock me into changing my behavior. They had just moved from a very rural area to the big city of Springfield Mo. and I was having a lot of trouble adjusting. They tried to make me watch this horror film about some little kid whose nose kept growing longer just because he was telling lies and skipping school. I raised such a racket that they had to remove me from the theater :D :D
Second Hand Lions
Lord of The Rings Trilogy
Platoon
Patton
The Longest Day
Monsters Inc
Ice Age
March of the Penguins
(These are grandkid magnets.)
What y'all said, plus "The Search for Red October".
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Kellys Heroes
Dirty Harry series
The Five Doctors - Dr.Who
The Little Drummer Boy
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
Miracle on 34th Street
The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
HUMMM now some of the movies above were OK for me, I'm more of an action buff.
almost all my top movies would be action and or si-fi and top 5 would be combos. I'm more of a movie buff and sepperate them into catagories (si-fi, action, hummor, real life adventure, kids ect. As forthe best it's hard to say.
maybe easier to pick top 3 of each catagory cause simply top 5 would be hard.
combo movies (action, si-fi, funny, realistic.)
ARNOLD with the terminator series cause " I'll be back" :)
ALLIEN series, MARS ATTACKS funniest one ever
any starwar episode with WITHOUT jarjar
SPACE BALLS cause well mel brooks is absolutely hallious
Gone in 60 SEC, (Orriginal, as it just rocks new one cage didn't do it justis.)
men in black
now for top 3 in MY fav 3 catagories
FUNNY. = ghost busters, Air plane & mars attacks ;D
SI-FI = star wars empirer strikes back, Terminator & StarGate :o
ACTION = Gone in 60 Sec orriginal, Saving priv. Ryan & Tremmors :)
(other catagories could be GORE/SPOOKY, KIDS stuff, Animated, Real Life ect. too many to list I suspose...)
(while thinking I got so many I like and was good that I can't really say which was/ios my most fav movies...) ::)
:o 8) Mark M
Don't Know about the other 5 but
Lonesome Dove is #1
Pinocchio (just for Bro. Noble)
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Outlaw Josey Wales
Hang em High
Patton
Just can't stand to watch any of the Southeast Asia movies. :(
Bob
Star Wars
Lord of the Rings
Anne of Green Gables
Princess Bride
The Apple Dumpling Gang
Fly away home
The wilderness family
Castaway .... w/ Tom Hanks
Escape from Alcatraz
Porkys
There's another movie, but I guess I can't include it.. Can't think of the name of it anyways, but it is about prisoners that built an airplane while in prison to escape. Somebody knows the name of it!
The Boy With The Green Hair
The Greatest Show on Earth
Destination Moon
High Noon
The Gods Must Be Crazy
Tom your telling your age with "The Boy With Green Hair"... That is unless there is a remake I am unaware of, Man that was a long long time ago... Saw it when I was about 9 or 10...
I am glad to see your pick of The Gods Must be Crazy, I have it and it is one of my favorites also... Listed below are some that I keep in my libary and watch from time to time. Like at least every 6 months or so..
Falling Down - with Michael Douglas
Cat Ballou - with Jane Fonda and Lee Marvin... I know, but she is great in this movie and others...
Going South - with Jack Nicholson and Mary Steenburgen
Deliverance - With Jon Voight and Burt Reynolds
Little Big Man - with Dustin Hoffman
Also the Original, "The Get Away" with Steve McQueen and Ali Mcgraw
Well thats 6 but there are many more that I keep to watch from time to time..
Jerry
Lord Of the Rings Trilogy
The Green Mile
Waterworld
Jeremiah Johnson
Saving Private Ryan
Stew
As much as I despise Jayne Fonda, I enjoy Cat Ballou every time I see it. Lee Marvin made the movie worth while, as he usually does, and I still laugh out loud when I picture a drunk Lee Marvin on a drunk horse and both leaning up against the side of a building.
DanGit! Every time I 'bout get this thing figgered out, somebody mentions one that's just gotta be in the top five, then I gotta decide what to bump from the list. >:( I guess it's unrealistic to think that everyone will just shut up while I cogitate about it for a few days, so I'll just throw out a few that I liked:
The Guns of Navarone
Ghost
1942
Oh God(I just love George Burns)
I can't think of the name of this one, but I'm sure you all know what it is. ???
Bullet
Catch 22
Billy Jack
Paint your Wagon
Blazing saddles
Along with many of the others mentioned
Including the one Dang caint remember , that one was good also

I know that movie you are thinking of and I can't stand that movie. I am surprised that you like it. ::) But like I say, to each his own. ;D
Bob
I'm not even in the same ball park as most of you folks so I'll keep mine to myself. ;)
I've got the same problem as DanG, everybody be quiet for a minute while I think.
Matrix
Patton
Blazing Saddles
Jaws
Forrest Gump

I think that would be "Nobody's Fool" with Paul Newman, Bruce Willis and Melanie Griffith
jerry-m and Tom, I had forgotten about Cat Ballou. It was a hoot. :D :D :D :D
Another one I really enjoyed was 'Papillon' with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman.
What was the road rage one where the truck chased the car and finally rolled and burned? We never saw the trucker. That was spooky.

Oh yea, with Dennis Weaver. Don't know the name though.
Dang, was the one you couldn't think of "bridge over river Quai"?
That is the one, now it's bugging me ::)

Naw, that weren't it. I didn't enjoy that one at all, since I never seen it. ::)
I think it was that one where Robin Williams played the homeless crazy guy that was haunted by a ghostly horseman. Or it coulda been the one where Robin Williams played the Doctor that did things just a bit differently. Or it coulda been the one where Robin Williams played the school teacher that did things just a bit differently. Or it coulda been just a Mork and Mindy rerun. Nanu nanu. ;D
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Gladiator
Shadowlands (about C.S. Lewis, my favorite author)
Shawshank Redemption
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
It's REALLY hard to pick five movies. I think it's easier to pick your five favorites from different genres.
I might think about this and do a list like that.
I guess it would be Action, Drama, Comedy, and I'd have to add Sci-Fi and maybe Thriller. And then there are classics.

That would be Duel, directed by Steven Spielberg. (http://www.netflix.com/MovieDisplay?movieid=60023037&trkid=147042) Good movie!
I like a lot of the movies mentioned. I'll try to pick a few more.
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance – Jimmy Steward & John Wayne
1941 - Everyone
Raiders of the Lost Ark – Harrison Ford
American Graffiti – Everyone
Old Yeller
Ah man! It's hard to stop..
ZULU!
The General – 1927 Buster Keaton
Swiss Family Robinson
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Shrek
The Cheyenne Social Club
The Scalp Hunters – Burt Lancaster, Ossie Davis and others.
Anything by John Ford
Hoosiers
Lonesome Dove
Tombstone
Second Hand Lions
Gettysburg
The DVD Hoosiers set is worth owning as it includes the 1953 Indiana State Finals game between Milian and Muncie, which is what the movie is based on. Gettysburg is based on the book "The Killer Angels" That book is excellent, as well as the book "Lonesome Dove"
Oh yeah, I forgot one:
The god's must be Crazy, parts 1 and 2
Not a real award winner, but it grows on you.
IMHO,
Jim
Raiders of the Lost Ark greatest escapist movie ever made
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Lord of the Rings trilogy
Forbidden Planet scared me to death when I was a kid and saw it the first time
Cat Balou still funny
1. Band Of Brothers
2. Outlaw Jose Whales
3. The Shootist (farewell Duke)
4. The Blues Brothers
5. Cool Hand Luke
I recieved the Band of Brothers box set as a gift. I try to watch the whole set at least opnce year, I it helps me to understand just how great that generations of folks really are. To all of the FF members who are vets, THANK YOU.
Here are a few more
Wizard of OZ
I remember Momma
Red River
Stagecoach
The Longest Day
Tora, Tora, Tora (the old one)
Interesting how your view of things change as you age. Clint Walker starred in a movie called "Night of the Grizzley" back in the 60's. As a kid, I thought that bear was one scary dude. I watched it a few years ago, and that bear looks like a moth eaten rag, now. I thought "Billy Jack" was good as a kid. Watched it a few years ago, and it was so corny and contrived I could hardly stand it.
I think another fun list could be a list of your five LEAST favorite movies, or the worst movies you've ever seen.
The first one that pops into mind was from when I was in high school:
Alan Quartermain and the Lost City of Gold. ::)
Thanks Paschale. ;D I think the worst one I have seen was Norma Rae with Sally Field and Beau Bridges. I was bored five minutes in, Bridges was very weak. ::)
Replace my Debbie with second hand lions,
I noticed Stevie segal didn't make the list.
Any movie where hanoi jane is killed would be my favorite.
To make it better have John kerry be convicted of it and hung by Clint Eastwood
Bibby
I Remember Momma, wasn't that a TV show? You're showin your age.
The Patriot
Last of the Mohicans
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
All The Ernest Movies with Jim Varney
The Santa Clause Movies with Tim Allen 1 and 2 didn't get a chance to see 3 yet

I don't think it's that hard to figure out. Got two granddaughers so we have to watch a lot of stuff they can watch - therefore - Snow White, Old Yeller, Swiss Family Robinson, etc. are those I can stand and enjoy and they like too.
I also like westerns. Have you seen The Scalp Hunters? While it is a western and there is some blood, etc. it is also very funny. Ozzy Davis and Burt Lancaster do a great job in this movie.
Okay Olen, so what are our profiles?
Stew
Oh, I don't know. They could probably go into one of three catagories, layed back, high adventure and the unknown. :D :D
North by northwest
Dune (si fi channel version)
The Camera Man (Keyton)
Hitch Hikers guide to the Galaxy
And that Monty Python movie with the Knights of Neep.
Faron , I was thinking of finding the Billy jack movies for a few years now that you mention it I think it would be better to just let sleeping dogs lie. I also liked Bambi as a kid but as I get older I kind of think that the heros of the movie changed, With every tree that gets dammaged I would like to change the name to BAMM by.
"Little Shop Of Horrors" ranks as my most disliked movie. My date and I walked out of the theater during it. Maybe my opinion would be different now that I'm older ??? "Dazed and Confused" could also be in my top five favorites as could King's "Misery" except I've already got five ;D Let's hear em Furby ;D :)
I watched Emperor of the North starring Lee Marvin and Ernest Borgnine several times when I was a kid.It inspired me to hop a freight and ride it to the end of the line.
The train ride was slow and uneventfull and no Railroad Bull tried to kill me :)
Lets give this a bit of a twist.
I'd like you all to name ONE currently still alive, top actor based on accomplishments.

Tom Hanks ;D
Jack Nicholson
I was scrolling to make sure Cool Hand Luke and Ben Hur got mention. CHL did but no Ben Hur yet. I think we have to see those old classics every now and then to remeber just how awesome they were especially for their time.
Some of the old "classics" tend to be more comedic now but some, like Ben Hur, stand the test of time.

The Cheech and Chong movies are always good for laughs 8) 8)
Mad Max
Star Wars
Shawshank Redemption
Open Range
007
While we're talking movies,rent The Village.Probaly came out last year.Kinda looks like a horror movie,but it's not.
Greg, ya gotta be smoking something funny to get the most out of those. :D
I have 10 or so movies that are tied for my favorite...none of which were made in the last 20 years (some not in the last 40, I'm 39 by the way) and they all have been mentioned. How many times can you watch your favorite movie, or at least not flip away when you surf past it. I bet I have watched the scene when "Quint" explains his removed tattoo (the USS Indianapolis) " ...1,199 men went into the water 316 came out, the sharks got the rest. July 30, 1945. I'll never put on a life jacket again..." I know I have seen that short soliloquy 20+ times, I still get chills. The big shark in the movie doesn't do much for me, but that part touches me deeply. Jaws is not even in my top 20, I was just thinking scenes.
Then I got thinking actors and actresses, the movie "Sabrina", I could not take my eyes off Audrey Hepburn, wow.
I just watched "The Fastest Indian" last night, that was a good show. I think Anthony Hopkins is a really good actor. I watched "Search for the Holy Grail", Cheech and Chong's "Up In Smoke" and "Things Are Tough All Over" probably into the hundreds of times, seriously. That was back when I drank and smoked a lot of things that I shouldn't have been. Did make Cheech and Chong make more sense though. Now I hardly ever watch a movie, it took my wife about a week to get me to watch that "Fastest Indian" show after someone borrowed it to me. Most of which I watch now are shows of my kid's, Veggie Tales (I love those, some really goofy humor), the Pixar shows have been funny too, I really loved "Finding Nemo" I've probably seen that 25 times, that has some good goofy humor too (like the sharks having the fish eaters anonymous meeting) Basically I like some really good clean humor or movies that have a real good story. I don't much care for action or horror movies, or most of the smut that comes out of hollywood now.

Woodbowl, what would you make of a guy that listed these movies as they're top five?
Terms of Endearment
Fried Green Tomatoes
Beaches
Steel Magnolias
Thelma & Louise
Hey I forgot Thelma & Louise, I just re-watched it a couple of nights ago on tv..
No body has mentioned "The Villian" with Arnold (can't spell last name[gov. of California]) and Ann Margaret and Kirk Douglas... Saw it a couple of times and have been trying to find it to buy, but no one has it... It is very silly & funny so maybe Arnold snaped up all the copies when he became Governor ;D

Gene Hackman; Holly Hunter.........loved her in "Harlan County War"; would've sworn she was a mountain girl/coal miner's wife.
I bought the entire Billy JAck set, did you know there was 4 movies he made? The last being Billy goes to Washington, dumb..............
Back in the 70's I used to moonlight at a dollar theater as a uniformed police bouncer, it was in a tough hood, no ushers, open 24-7 so the bums, dopers and scrotes would hang out there.
Saw, jaws, one flew over the cockuos nest, blazing saddles, excorsist, free bee and the bean over 150 times each, yikes!
Its Monty Pyton and the Holy Grail and its the Knights who say nee or until recently said nee and now say iccy iccy iccy newing :D :D :D bring me a shrubbery.
I did a quick scan and I don't think anyone listed these...
All Humphrey Bogart ....
Casablanca
African Quean
The Maltese Falcon
And how about Alfred Hitchcock?
Psycho
The Birds
Vertigo
Rear Window
We watched Rear Window on TV many years ago when the boys were small. They protested watching that old boring black and white movie but bit by bit they got interested and about half way though to the end they were riveted to the story.
I told my sister about this last night before things got out of control and I had to leave. As we discussed the possiblilities my list of 5 changed several times from what I had listed. Tonight I'm having a hard time focusing on what they were, but it was pretty clear last night. I think I have about 20 top 5 movies now.
Way to go Patty . I want to see Bullet again but I don't think it will have the same effect on the tube . I would like to see Second Hand Lions some time soon.
Mary and I double dated with one of my cousins and her best friend and seen Bullet in the theater. The race scenes (up and over all the hills) made me queasy as I expected it did everyone else to some degree but Mary's friend about lost her cookies. move_it

Tom Selleck – in any western
Tommy Lee Jones – in any movie I've seen
Jodi Foster – Nell, The Silence of the Lambs
Antonio Banderas – Zorro
Eddie Murphy – The Nutty Professor, Nutty Professor II, the Klumps
Just found this thread...
Top 5 off the top of my head:
Crash
Trading Places
Manchurian Candidate (the original w/ Frank Sinatra)
Fail Safe
The Princess Bride
ok...I can't stop:
What Dreams May Come
Ride The High Country
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
The Man Who Knew Too Much
Goldfinger
Matrix
The Sting
To Kill A Mockingbird
Poolhall Junkies
The Notebook
12 Angry Men (with Henry Fonda et al)
The Upside of Anger
The Green Mile
The next time you watch bullet count how many hubcaps fall off in the chase scenes. :o :D
No one mentioned "Midnight Run" w/Robert DeNiro and Charles Grodin, also Kelly's Hero's, Silverado.
Cheers Pep
And I don't think anyone mentioned ....
Gone with the wind.
Big Country.
How the west was won.
Cheyenne Autumn
Bridge over the River Kwai
Animal House
"One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" hasn't been mentioned
Some of the ones being tacked on I just can't see but that's what makes for great discussion. :D
However, To Kill A Mockingbird . . . . . . now that one is a shoe-in.

Several years after seeing it, very memorable but can't honestly say I enjoyed it, I saw Louise Fletcher in an interview. Believe it was Good Morning America. I still saw her as the nurse Cratchitt and could not bring myself to like her.
I'm probably one of two people who has not seen "Gone With The Wind".
I'm the other one. :D

Nor me; my wife's seen it enough for all of us. Tried to read the book many years ago; couldn't do it.
This thread has taken a number of twists, as most of the longer ones do......
QuoteTop 5 Favorite movies of all time
Six pages already and not a single mention of my all time
most faviorate movie. Saw it as a young kid at the drive-in theater sitting on the ground outside the parents car.
El Cid - Charlton Heston
I even got to visit the site on the south coast of Spain where the actual real life story (legend) took place and walked through the castle remains.
Next 4 in no particular order:
Longest Day
Midway
Blue and the Gray
Gettysburg
Ah yes! A growing Ships compliment of the HMS GWTW (Have Missed Seeing Gone With The Wind)
So far its a Corvette with the blistering speed of long days and hard nights. Many more members and it may take on the nomenclature of a ...Frigate. ;D :D
I think I did read that'un when I'se a teenager.......... Nicholas Monsarratt's "HMS Corvette" or was that "The Cruel Sea"..........can't remember if that's one book or two. :-[

The first one, then the second one, then the third one, then two at once which adds up to 5 :)
Well Tom, I guess it'd be easy to say you don't know what you're missing – not having seen Gone With the Wind – that is.
I recommend renting it when you've got 4 hours clear on your schedule. Make sure you've got a gallon of popcorn and a liter of Coke. It has an entr'acte in the middle of about 15 minutes so you can take a stretch and get a fresh supply of popcorn and Coke.
Well frankely, Tom, I just don't give a DanG :D :D :D
I'm just kidding, I agree with Bibb, that's a classic that everyone otter see-----just after to Kill a Mocking bird, Oh Brother, and second hand lions :D :D
Talking about car movies & hubcaps flying off:D Bullet I think tops the list, but if ya watch the old gone in 60 seconds I think the lead mustang looses about 8 hubcaps, I the blue brothers car must loose at least that many lol... still a great movie though... ALso Love the GUMBALL RALLY :)
Not to many shows out there like that one...
Some of th eold classics are good too don't get me wrong, I'm just one of those guys who enjoys a good laugh at the movies. toss in some good ole shanaggiens and I'm there ;)
Mark M
Not on my top five list but I've got to admit I enjoyed Scary Movie, Scary Movie
2, and 3. They regularly have Scary Movie 2, and 3 on the Dish but I've only seen Scary Movie one time when it came out on VHS. I'd watch it again. ;D
Just watched The French Connection again the other evening. Pretty good high-speed car chase in that movie. It wasn't chasing another car but a subway train.
yes scary one was not so good but we did laugh at the next two. and we also love to look for continuity problems like extra hubcaps. :D
Smokey and the Bandit was a good laugh. Also Cannonball Run, it was taken fom the Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash organized by Brock Yates of Hot Rod Magazine. The race had a short life, the feds did not see the humor. I still remember Dean Martin " Those guys arent Fathers, theyre MOTHERS." :D :D :D :D :D
Oh! I like to spot goofs!
Did you see the very funny movie "Pure Luck" with Danny Glover and Martin Short?
They took this guy out in the desert and Danny Glover was holding a handgun on him. As the switched back and forth from over his shoulder back to his face the gun changed from a government model 1911 45 to a Beretta 9mm.
I'm in the not seen GWTW group. Waiting until there is nothing else to do.
Abbot and Costello made some of the funniest movies ever.
I really like Tommy Lee Jones, but couldn't stand The 3 Burials of Miguel .... or whatever the name of that movie was.
Guess I am with the no Wind crew to. ;D
Silverado is another one of my favorites. Gotta love a good western! smiley_horserider
Gettin so any movie that doesn't have filthy language is harder to find. Down here, seems like there is no language limits, day or night ??? ::) ::)

I love a good western too.. But Silverado is not high on my list.
I guess maybe because it don't have any of the old standard western stars in it. Danny Glover was the best they had in the movie. I'm not a big Kevin Costner fan. About the only movie I liked with him in it was "The Untouchables". Then again, it had Sean Connery in it playing a great role.
I thought Open Range was a great movie but was distracted by Kevin Costner in the lead role. I kept thinking how much better it'd been with someone else.
A pretty decent western that no one has mentioned is Nevada Smith. Which reminds me of The Carpetbaggers. And although they aren't among my favorites, I'm surprised that no one mentioned Giant or The Color Purple, or Lillies of the Field.
I get surprised sometimes how much I enjoy a good documentary too. The Lewis and Clark expedition on PBS was great, and so have been a lot of those Ken Burns movies, The Civil War, Baseball, Jazz and the like. That movie Winged Migration was amazing, and so was the March of the Penguins. Often, real world/real life is more fascinating and interesting to me than the stuff churned out by hollywood. Though it depends on my day and the mood.
I watch one documentary for probably every ten normal hollywood movies. Netflix is great for getting access to all kinds of amazing movies, and giving you recommendations on ones you might like. Any other netflix fans out there?
yep, Netflicks 3 ata time unlimited here......the lovely mrs wood really appreciates it. :D :D :D :D

I didn't mention "Stagecoach" but I did add "Any western by John Ford" at the end of my extended list.
Mary and I watched the
real Stagecoach made in1939 with John Wayne this afternoon. :)
A top 5 or only 5 might be hard to do, but Top Gun comes to mind. seems like you cant get a group of guys together without some one spouting off a top gun line.
Negative maveric, the pattern in full.
After that it might be the timmy/jimmy power hour I, II, and III Anyone with kids and the nick channel may have heard of it.

In no particular order:
"Lonesome Dove".......I know, it was a TV movie, but still........; or anything else by Larry McMurtry.
"The Big Country"........Peck, Simmons, Ives, Baker, Heston
One of (depending on my mood) "The Quiet Man".......Wayne, O'Hara; "The Searchers".........Wayne, Hunter;"Rio Grande"........Wayne, O'Hara
"Miracle on 34th Street"...........Payne, O'Hara
"The Philadelphia Story".........Stewart, Hepburn, Grant
That's only 5, right ;D
The Big Country is at the top of my list!! My favorite all-time line was uttered by Burl Ives to Gregory Peck: "Teach your grandmother to suck eggs!"
An interesting asside: I found the movie, The Maltese Falcon, immeasurably better than the printed story.
How many times can I/you/we say that?
Lord of the rings
Independance Day
Alien trilogy
Sin City
Kung Pow
Star wars woulda made it but the 3 prequels turned the big scary Darth Vader into a whiney little girl with dependancy issues :D
Trev, that's funny. :D :D :D :D
I found this real special for all the others that feel the same about Star wars.
Not sure if I should post the link but if you google "Robot Chicken: Darth Vader Calls the Emperor"
you will wet yourself laughing.
I promise smiley_monkeyfight
1) Band of Brothers
2) Lonesome Dove
3)Braveheart
4) Battle of Britian
5) The Ten Commandments
and thats just to name a few. :D
When I saw The Ten Commandments back when it first came out, at the start of the movie, it was announced that there would be an intermission at the half point of the movie. After three and one half hours with out the intermission, I heard someone say they didn't think they made over seven hour movies. :o The theater must have forgot about the break at the two hour mark.
Bob
We watched parts of two great movies this evening.
After supper I put on a DVD of "Anne of Green Gables" (1934 version in B&W) that I'd recorded off of TCM over the weekend. Alex loves the classic movies and she was glued to the movie. Gabe and Mary were even looking over top of the books they were reading to follow along. We didn't get to finish it before the girls' bedtime so we'll get back to it tomorrow night.
After the girls said their goodnights', we found "American Graffiti" was in progress on TCM so we finished out the evening with that. "Rome wasn't burnt in a night."
