Go out and shake the gas cans. If you hear one rattle, well, it has ice in it. Dump the gas into another container, and then run some hot water into the can with ice in it, and thaw it. Then dump it out.
Then rinse it with diesel, (not as toxic) and replace the gas.
This day is too cold. I don't mind Wisconsin winters, as it is a dry cold. But the damp wet cold of Arkansas gets me.
Nate
Today was a perfect day to cut, split, and stack firewood :) I had other plans today that involved the skid steer, but I've put off buying a new battery for it ::) Too cold this morning to start. I'll have to wait until tomorrow when it's a little bit warmer so I can put the charger on it and hopefully get it started so I can raise the boom and get a new battery. Couldn't wait for cold weather, now I want a warm day :-\
Build a fire in the fireplace.
make a pot of hot coffee
experiment with making some hot chocolate.
turn the air conditioner off
Make sure the windows and doors are all closed.
Put on a shirt, long trousers and shoes to watch TV
go to bed an pull a warm blanket up to your chin
look out the window for signs of growing grass
call the bank and make sure that you have enough money to hold you over untill the sun comes back
Use the phone instead of hollering across the street from the front porch
juice all the oranges so that they don't go to waste ;D
Was supposed to be funny... but it really did happen!
;D
Well, it was funny, Nate. I'm just glad it wasn't me. I just don't get along very well with cold weather. I can take it if I have to, but give me upper 90s any day! I remember a few years ago I got caught in the campground at the Grand Canyon in a snowstorm with temps a bit below zero. Our propane froze up and all we had was a little 1500w space heater in that old leaky motor home. Me & Linda was both glad we had someone to snuggle up with, that night.
It was rainy and in the fifties here yesterday. Today was mostly in the forties, but it finally made it to 51. I just stayed inside until it was time to feed the beasties. I ain't got any emergencies, and I can wait a day or two, rather than get out in that misery.
8) 8) 8) EAT SLEEP AND BE MERRY FOR WHO WNOWS WHAT TOMORROW MIGHT BRING i read this somewhere i dont rember where
Visit with friends on the Forestry Forum of course :)
Go to Jacksonville and help Tom get his mill back ?
:D
One thing I remind my Florida friends when I visit during "chilly" spells is, socks really help your whole body stay warm. Nothin funnier than a transplanted northerener complaining about the Fl. cold sittin there with sweater and a hat but sandles and no socks. :D
Well, the temps here the past couple days have been about zero at night and 20-ish during the day (that's Fahrenheit for you furriners), so I had to put a coat on to go outside. Most days it's just a t-shirt to go get the paper in the morning, but with snow falling, it's not fun to do that. ;D
Here on the Florida suncoast I just turn up the A/C and start a fire in the fireplace. Cozy!
So your're the one doing all this!!
Got your Air Conditioner on and the windows open again, eh?
Dag nabit!! Raider Bill I've had to put socks on my ears. Turn that dang A/C off. 'Tween you and my wife, there's gonna be ice on the screens. :D :D
Yep and I am also the reason why the price of Bud went up over night, Had some brothers ride in from Ohio yesterday am, Counted 17 empty boxes of beer this morning. My eyes are crossed, toes curled and some SOB is banging a hammer in my head as I type. Going to be a long 10 days. smiley_sick smiley_smash
Well, keep the bikes parked in the living room. :D
