A buddy has a Stihl 056 Magnum which will not run. Thinks it needs a new electronic ignition. Are those available? Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks

i would have to say yes, but i can't say for sure, i took my 056 in for that reason several years ago, and it was running within an hour. i could not tell you for sure wether i got canibalized parts or new. the key is probably finding a true veteran dealer that knows how to go beyond a parts book to fix things. the guy i use is a second generation stihl guy, and i drive bye two other stihl dealers to get to him, but i know it'll only require one trip that way.

Two thumbs up on the last response. Get a garrantee on the part , or deeper check on the saw beforehand. I've got 3 (2 are parts) 056s but don't wan't to part them out yet, awsome
