Title: Where's all the Hydraulic Guys
Post by: Fla._Deadheader on February 08, 2007, 08:40:23 PM

Should be headed for Florida within 3 weeks. While there,  want to see about getting my Cycle built. I'm thinking about Hydraulic Drive system, instead of belt ??

How does one size a pump and motor to a 2 or 3 cylinder Kubota Diesel ???

Ya tried our Sponsor Eggimann's yet?  They do a lot of hydraulic work with and around trucks of every description known to truckers, and may have some ideas for you.
Lookin for the Introduction to their team of guys, but I believe Brandon is the name of the Hydraulic man there. He's helped me with some questions about hydraulics.

Stateside soon to visit the grand kid?  That should be fun.
Do they weigh you in when you arrive, and weigh you agin when you leave, then make ya shake out yer pockets?  ;D

Here  are a couple formulas. You are on your own for doing the math. :D

Horsepower to drive pump= Flow Rate (G.P.M.) x system pressure (P.S.I.) divided by 1714 x % PUMP EFFICIENCY

As a general rule of thumb 1 horse is required  for each gallon per minute  at 1500 psi

Motor Horsepower = Torque (ft/lbs) x RPM divided by 5252
