Here's what Furby and stump_jumper are doing. Before they left they coated my mill with a new high-tech protectant to keep the paint from getting chipped by all the road salt.
They are camped out somewhere south of Indianapolis right now. Bet they are having a hard time roasting franks and marshmellows with all the wind, whattya bet ???

Congrats Kevjay! Underneath all that ice/sand mixture its still orange and beautiful! :D
Hey, dat da Boss's mill.........at least I think so. Is it headin south, and another admin is losin his mill?
So Furby and StumpJumper are up to a road trip agin. Huh....can't seem to keep them two home long.
Lot's a pics wanted dis time.
You are going to want to wash off that salt/ice real quick before it starts to corrode the wiring and every thing else.
Yep, somebody is pullin yer leg a little. Thats my slushmizer, And I can guarantee ya its covered with a big winter blanket of TARP, and dont look like that anymore, and more importantly its still HERE. Kevjays mill is coming from a different member from what my understanding is, but I aint heard anything from him other then I see a sold on his add in the 4 sale section.
Dont worry Kevjay, if yer mill gets a coating as mine got coming across the continental divide and it didnt bother it a bit. :)
Okay he got me a good one there. :D :D :D
I'll have to be thinkin real hard on what to serve up 'ol Furb when he gets down here. There's lots of ways to disguise Opossum. ;D I reckon stumpy is guilty by association. ;D

Disguise it as road kill armadillo. He'll never guess it's opossum. :D 8)
If they are holed up in Indy, they are not going to enjoy the trip across Illinois. The 12" of snow was not so bad, it was the 45 mph winds that did us in. I talked to a guy last night who was busting 7' drifts with and endloader to get home. The road crews just gave up at noon yesterday, they will try again today.
They said they were gonna bypass Illinoiz and go to Tennessee and hang a right. I'll call 'em in a while and see if they can see. ::)

go to Tennessee and hang a right.
Sounds like a good plan. I am thinking about going to Tennessee...and just keep heading south. ::) That is after I get my "heading south" vehicle dug out.
I talked to 'em a few hours ago. They said they were makin alot better time than yesterday. I told 'em you were really catchin it and they said "Yeah we aren't that fa`east of Daren we better put the hammer down.".
I told Furby his joke was funny and that I was "...planning something particuraly evil and nasty for revenge . . . " He just busted up laughing. He actually knew I was horsing around. Go figure.
This is the REAL mill pic from this morning. ;D
Most everything that is on the mill was picked up on our short jog down 465.
The mill is currently 99% free of snow/slush. ;D
(https://forestryforum.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10577/101_0028.jpg)
Who was it that said the South was warm ???
Must be a misprint or typo... The mill is currently 99% free of snow/slush.
Should read The mill is curently 99% covered of free snow/slush ;D

I think I mentioned something about it, back in August. :-[
It's NOT August! :o :-[ :-\
KevJay
Now remember my son is in with those 2 as well so he will need a different dinner as he as cannot be guilty of association. He is my little angel. ;D
When I talked to them last night they were going to stop and stay near Little Rock, Arkansas.
Furby
What no pics of my truck or did you really have to buff out the marks in the paint and haven't done it yet. ;) :o
Ok Mom, but what about Jonny?
Um......... ya thought I was kidding about the the truck? :-\
Somebody actualy loaned Furby a truck :o :o
isawlogs
I didn't actually loan Furby the truck he is just driving the truck so stump jumper can sleep. ;D and stump jumper jr. can help to navigate he wasn't navigating to well last night becuase when I called he was sleeping in the back. The thing is we just got the truck Saturday.
Furby
What have you done to stump jumper jr. ??? :o I will need pics. >:(
Stump Jumper
Aren't you keeping those two in line. Please no tupperware under the tires this time. :D ;D
That mill was a bright orange color when it left my yard!!!!! 8)
I talked to Furby last night and he said they had just stopped at McDonald's to eat and relax.... I couldn't hear him over the little kidz screaming in the background. I'ze thinkin' it was Stump_Jumper and Jr. while Furby was driving :D
KevJay - I left ya a voicemail when I got in the other night. The nights have been long here so ya might a been asleep. I am on the 24 hour clock this week :( Just stopped for an early lunch so I can go at it again. The 4 ft drifts have slowed us a bit. ;D
Boss - The checks almost in the mail. The CFO has to handle the PayPal thingee. I'm somewhat challenged ;)
kevjay
You can serve Furby up some of them there olives w/jalepenos he really likes those ;) ;D Just don't tell him what they have in them just regular olives maybe with banana peppers in em' or sumptem' :D :D
This worst then I thought .... someone willingly loans him wheels .... :o
isawlogs
He did leave me his vehicle. So if something happens to mine something may just have to happen to his. :o ;) :-X ;D
The mill did make it to its destination. Haven't heard anything further this was around 3 or so.
Only pic I have is this one as we forgot to get one at Kevjay's. :-\

Your truck is still in one piece! :)
Anyone else wanna loan me their rig ???
Got BIG plans! ;D
Glad to see my baby is still in one piece. 8) 8)
Just got through meeting them for lunch here in Oklahoma City, had a great visit, and enjoyed the company. Told them to stop by anytime when they are in the area. Wish I could have visited longer with them and showed them around.
Furby, that truck didnt look like the one you were driving, the one you were driving had the front left quarter panel bent up. ;) :D thats the only difference I see from the photo. OK the truck does look the same as the photo, the quarter panel is fine.
Dont worry none about it being in one peice .. its if the pieces are all in the same place they where when it left .
When are y'all coming back through IN? You know we are 20 minute from 69 so if you want to say hi for a minute or so I will think about cleaning the house for ya. But I am not sure about have a FORD parked in my drive. Just let us know.
katie-did
I'm not sure when they are planning on coming back this way I believe it will be early in next week. Not sure which roads they will be traveling either.
It seems as if Furby has kidnapped my son, my husband and MY TRUCK. ;D :o
isawlogs and GF
Like I wrote before I have his vehicle. I can hold it for ransom. ;D
GF
Glad they behaved for you and were on their best behavior. Heard my son ate like he a hollow leg I better check in and make sure they are feeding him like they should from the sounds of it he was starving. :o :D
Hey at least they stopped in for lunch. My wife had a big shindig planned for them. Marinated rib-eyes and all the fixins. For breakfast they were gonna get real grits with their egss and bacon and sausage and biscuits and gravy and homemade apricot preserves and, and, and I have been eating like a king!
Well anyway, I guess they weren't none to keen about having to crash on the couches I don't blame them. Next time we will have the house done and it has a guset room! 8)
kevjay and GF
Glad to hear you all had a good visit. Wish I could of gone but it is not possible for to travel to far right now.
The boys are playing at Arky's today. 8)
Not sure where the next destination is. ???
Hopefully I will see them sometime next week. :)
I had the extreme pleasure to welcome the threesome to Arkansas Friday evening. Did our best to feed them but they were still to full from that Oklahoma lunch. We sat around the wood stove while I told them fish tales hoping to entice them back when they could spend more time. Don't know if they will want to leave Arkansas as the temperature is supposed to be in the 50's today, plenty of sunshine, and no snow. :)
I also noticed the truck that they were in was different from the one in the picture. It was two tone...off white on the bottom with a little blue on the top. :D :D
Just got a warning that I was liable to be invaded by Yankees in a few minutes ;D I put the coffee pot on 8) 8)
Make 'em eat some grits - I think that is why they wouldn't come to the house they knew my wife was gonna insist they try her Fried Grit Pies.
OH NO! Don't feed'em grits 'cause if they like'm I may have to learn to cook them this is not a good thing. ::) :'(
Jonny's stomach is very sensitive to new food please don't let him eat them I don't want any messes in my truck.
Stump Jumper and boys!
What's this about my two tone sounds like is has changed some ??? >: :o( Need nother pic of my truck boys. Even if you just pm it to me.
Oh by the way I think I will be purchasing a battery for the plow truck don't ask. :o :-X
So ya all hear dat..........jus feed Jonny 'old' food, nothing new..... :)
;D
Well, those guys finally showed up------you really can't blame Furby for getting lost cause he's only been here two or three times before :D :D :D
We didn't have near enough time to suit me anyway. I hated to see them leave------well at least John :D--------that guy has a way with those stoopid cows 8)
We put the FF express back in business with some old junk headed for Michigan ;)
I think I overheard them say they were headed toward Ohio :o-----That's not on the road from here to Michigan ::)
Furby's trying to get out of Grits country as fast as he can.
Furby AND Jonny have been liking dem GRITS! smiley_big-grin2
Good thing Arky lost his net connection or who knows what lies stories he'd be telling. :o
Tell some for him until he gets renetted. :)
Well since the oak logs were a hoax, I guess I should tell about the "lost" mine.
Went looking for a "hole" that Arky found while lost and we had to get lost to find it.
Only to notice that it was 150' from the truck, AFTER we walked a three miles through the woods. ::)
Arky can tell about the Dillo. ;)
I pulled this off the web Arky:
A game animal indigenous to the Southwest, it has a flavor comparable to duck.
www.recipegoldmine.com/glossary/glossaryA.html
it has a flavor comparable to duck.
And the appearance similar to a lunch bucket?
Well, I can't argue with that, boss. :-\
Almost forgot, Nobel's right!
The FF express is back in business with some items for someone in MI. 8)
A couple pics to get things rolling. 8)
The first one was a true "shot in the dark".
Looks like it came out pretty DanG good! ;D
(https://forestryforum.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10577/TX%20Trip%20059.jpg)
Down in the "Yankee hole"
The two trouble makers.
The crew and the trucks. ;D
Thats a good pic of stump Jumper Jr. and Arky. :) You guys are wearing just as heavy of cloths down there as we are up here!
We brought the cold South so you wouldn't have too! :)
Starting to warm up, even washed the truck now that we found someplace that actually had the carwash turned on or rather, not froze up. ::) DanG Southerners can't handle the cold, they actually shut carwashes off when it gets cold. ::) ::)
Where are you off to now? Whats the next stop? This aint as good as being there, but its the next best thing. :)
Dat's a secret! ;)
Let's just say dat Jonny needs to see the world's biggest log arch. ;D
Oh No, not again! Make sure the Stump Jumper is unarmed.
We'll hope they remembered to unarm this time.
Not sure where they are headed each day they are even keeping me in the dark.
Jeff
Good thing you were keeping track of Arky and Jonny those two could of probably get into some big mischief specially if you add Furby to the bunch. You have your hands full I can see that. I guess boys will be boys.
So me truck is cleaner now than what is shows in the pic. ???
Jonny even got to milk a cow :o at Bro Nobles from what I heard I will have to see the pics to believe it because he wouldn't help his uncle milk goats. ;D
Well here's a pic of Jonny pulling his first teat.
This is Noble's newest calf.
In the last picture it looks like Bro. Noble is telling Jeff and Jonny that the calf is not breathing and one of them needs to give the new calf mouth to nose resuscitation. The question is which one of them saved the calf's life? I am sure Furby wanted to, but he was taking pictures.
Bob
Yea, but maybe that explains the lack of pictures after that point...
Jeff B, I suppose you are right. Furby jumped right in there and became the hero. 8) A person has not really lived until they have kissed a slimy nose of a new born calf to save its life.
Bob
HE maybe looking it over real close to see where the ribeye steak comes from. :o ;)
No Furby wouldn't touch it. He wouldn't want to get his hands all slimy. ;D :o Stump Jumper may of or Bro Noble, Jonny was probably to flabbergasted to do anything.
I was told they put a straw in its nose and and did something with it until the calf coughed and sneezed. (I think that is the way it went) The calf was breathing when they left. Looked like it was gonna make it. 8)
Well I was off getting the cows in and Jeff and John and The Furbster were poking around in the junk piles. I found this cow needing a little assistance and hollered at the guys "who wants to help pull a calf?' Well, all three took off in a run-----two of them towards me and the cow :D :D Jeff and I pulled the calf, John was ready with a straw as soon as the calf hit the ground. It was breathing, but kinda raspy, so John tickled it's nose tho make it sneeze and clear out it's lungs. Soon after they hit the road to parts unknown, the calf was up and taking on nourishment.
Where do you reckon those three characters are now? ::)
They were at Cedarman's yesterday and then heading to the North country. When I talked to them last night there were headed to South Bend, Indiana for the night. They were gonna head out this morning toward Okiamac's place (sp). Then they would be heading home I think. That is what I understand so here's hoping I see them today.
Well the crew made it to my place at around 10:00 or so. I was all out of breath because I had just saved our miniture goat from the jaws of death-literally. Our new German shepard dog had the goats whole neck in his mouth and wasn't letting go. I had to run 100yds in deep snow to save the danG thing.
Anyway, Jeff, John, and Furby showed up with a truck load of some real nice Cedar from Cedarmans mill. 8) We unloaded the Cedar and I gave them the dime tour.
Can't say thanks enough to Furby and Stumpjumper-they are real good folks the kind that make this forum what it is. :)
really enjoyed the trip and visiting with everyone . 8) 8)
Kevjay sounds like you are getting that woodmizer in tiptop shape ;)
Yup, gotta thank everyone for taking the time to visit with us along the way. 8)
Sounds like y'all fellers had a great time. 8)
Yep Jeff the mill is coming right along. The mill operator is having some problems but I'll catch on sooner or later. :)
Thought we'd put up a pic of the cryo treating process we put Kevjay's blades through. ;D
(https://forestryforum.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10577/TX%20Trip%20003.jpg)
Yeah, that DanG hawby is so stingy he only sent me like 300 blades. I'm probably gonna have to buy more as soon as 2010 or something. :)
He told me on the phone there was something like a truck load of blades.
I really though he was over doing it a bit.
Boy was I wrong! :o
We had to get creative to get all the blades in the truck, but we did it! ;D
