Hey guys, My brother gave me a old Poulan 245 to try and get running again for him ( he has no patience to tinker on things, he just tosses it in a corner till i can get it working again)....
this thing is heavy like a M-1 tank..... more steel / aluminum than a 2007 Honda
Anyone able to tell me what size engine (cc's) it is, what era its from and where is a good place to find parts for older saws (if needed),
Its got a newer oregon bar and chain on it, so it looks like it was running at least some time since 1985 :)
thanks, Jim

just what I was looking for, thanks!

I too have a 245(a) that I bought new in 78/79. Been running it on and off since then for mostly firewood.
We're almost close enough to be neighbors so feel free to ask questions and such ( PM would probably work best ).

Bill, you have a PM....
