Title: Drill Guides
Post by: DKR on May 16, 2007, 04:48:03 PM
Anyone out there made a homemade drill guide for your 1/2 inch electric drill?  My other pair of eyes (my son) who helps me keep by bit straight when drilling my peg holes will be leaving for college soon, and I just can't fathom paying $300+ bucks for a drill guide.  Any ideas, other than asking my wife to help?

How about a block of wood with a true ½" hole square to one face, that can be clamped to the timber you want to drill?  Make the original hole on a drill press, or before your son leaves.  :)
