Things have been a little slow around the Forum this week. I figure spring is breaking out and more people are out sawing or logging or whatever they do when they are not on the Forum. Then there is the war going on. Everyone watching Fox News if they ain't doing one of the above.
Well, I got to poking around in the Knowledge Base. You may have seen these words in the bar at the top of the Forestry Forum page. It's got quite a lot of stuff in it - informative, thoughtful and sometimes amusing.
I don't think a lot of us use the Knowledge Base. Maybe some don't know it's there.
The great thing about the Knowledge Base is - You too can add to it. Yes you can! Got a funny joke, got a great recipe, got some good knowledge on saw blade set, got some business wisdom, got a great quote - you can put it out there.
I've went back and went through some of the post and added some tips.

Been there Bibbyman and you are right there is some good stuff there. It's like a library and yes it would be a good idea for people to post the good stuff there.
Funny thing is I was milling and thinking about a name for my company and it hit me that there was a post here that had a cool name. So I came back to the office and searched through the posts and found the post about Tamarack.
My new company name for the mill is The Tamarack Milling Company. One of my best friends is native and she thought that it was a very cool name so I think I will stick with it!
My contruction company is called Winter Cove Services and Deanna said it's neat that I have two company names that are different from what most guys have.
Anyways it's back to the mill to cut an ugly log that was dropped off.

Thank for the information Bibbyman. I am still discovering all the nooks and crannies on this Forum. Now that I am out of "hyding" I have been reading the mail since last fall, and finally sign on last month. I enjoy the little quips you guys come up with sounds like a nice bunch of fellers. Be glad to offer a few cents once in a while when I can.
Tamarack Milling is a lot better than Thick 'N Thin Lumber or Rainbow Lumber. :D

There's a guy out here that has a company called The European Craftsman and I always laugh because it sounds like You're a peeing craftsman! :D :D

I've been to mills that should have been called that.
We have a place around here that is called the Nipple Convalescence Home, run by the Nipple family. I always thought it was a place for retired nipples. :D

I just registered my company name, its called the "Prairie Dog Sawmill" , But to tell the truth I'm hoping for some trees.

How do you clamp your prairie dogs down so you can saw them? ??? Do you charge more for 1/4 sawing them prairie dogs? ??? I never been to a place like that I don't think, folks most places that I have been just pop them with a .22/250 when they poke there heads up.

I think those Prarie Dogs saw better when they are frozen. I know that Red Pine does.
