Dad was pestering one day some years ago when I was trying to finish off a 16/4 walnut order. He finally got to me and I ran the blade into and over the log stop.
So...Dad said "since ya screwed up that board can I have it?" ;D ;D Sure...so long as you leave me alone for the rest of the week. :D :D
He made this little whimsical table from that board. Has shown it at a few shows where he displays the table name on a little card...."Mis-Cut". The picture doesn't show it very well but the top is 4" thick on one corner and 2" thick on another corner. The bottom also shows a big curve where the band took the dive. He really enjoys talking about the son that can't saw straight...especially if I'm within earshot range. :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

I've been moving him to a new apartment and just thought I would take a pic of something a little special to me.
Just goes ta show ya, sows ears and silk purses. Dad has a good eye.
Yeah! And it's a good thing too, What with a son that makes such crooked boards. :D :D
That sure is pretty. 8) Just think Larry, without your Dad's help you would never have been able to saw such a pretty board. ;D
Bob - the guy that can make a sow's ear out of a silk purse :(
Larry, I bet you could not do it again if you tried :D.
Love the inlays! And the story, too :D
Good job Dad ! Saved from the slab pile - :D
:)sweet :)
The nasty looking boards or the scraps always make for the best stories and nicest pieces.
I like unique pieces like that. ya have to be willing to depart form the "norm". Since I rarely ever *am* in the "norm", I can really relate to it. :) Nice work dad.
That is a beautiful table Larry. 8)
Larry, I see you come by it honestly. :)
Thats just wonderful!
